The New Deanery is your home, so we’re here to make sure you can always choose to live the way you want to. You’ll feel safe at all times so you can enjoy a fulfilling life.

We care for you as an individual. Before you join us we will sit down with you to find out what you need – and just as importantly we’ll talk about what you like and don’t like.

We have an important motto here: Kindness, Comfort and Respect. It’s at the heart of all we

do and our staff are trained to keep it in mind whatever they are doing.

Everyone on our team is highly trained and experienced, and not only do we have generous staffing levels, but we almost never use agency staff so you will know the people who care for you well.

We constantly check that we live up to our motto by asking you what we could do better, and by responding to what you tell us.

At The New Deanery we’d like you to be able to relax and enjoy yourself, so we’ve created an all-inclusive package that means you never need to worry again about running your daily life.

So if you’d like never again to face a heap of bills, to try to find a plumber to fix a leaking tap, or to plan yet another week’s meals, we invite you to let us take care of everything for you.

What’s more, we’ll help you to move to The New Deanery – all you have to do is come and see us and decide whether you’d like to live with us. You can stay for lunch or overnight if you’d like to get to know us better. We’re here to make your move as easy as possible.

At the heart of The New Deanery is a wonderful Tudor building.

We are Grade II listed – with wonderful communal areas, a Bistro for all residents and visitors, and even a Tudor banqueting suite for celebrations and functions.

Every resident has their own room with ensuite facilities, and can bring their own furniture to make it really feel like home.

We’re lucky to have ten acres of beautiful gardens and woodland around our home, with patios, a croquet lawn, a potager, chickens, and a barbecue we use throughout the summer, so everyone can enjoy being outside.

There’s plenty of free parking for visitors, and a children’s play area in the garden. Our estate is in its own secure grounds, but of course residents may come and go as they wish. TH

Living life to the full.

Life is for living, so whether your passion is cryptic crosswords or carpentry, or simply chatting with friends, we’re here to help you do the things you love.

We like to be actively involved in life and are always delighted to welcome friends and family. We pride ourselves on making people feel at home, and receive regular visits from professional musicians and speakers, a florist, an armchair physiotherapist, poets, dancers, a pet therapist, a carpenter, and many more – we even share our vegetable garden with a primary school so as soon as the first shoots show in spring, the children come over to garden alongside our residents.

We visit local towns, shops, restaurants and other places of interest regularly. Many residents like to use the public bus into town and we have our own minibus so trips are easy for everyone.

We also actively encourage residents to have a say in the running of the home if they want to. For example, we run monthly resident forums, residents can participate in staff interviews, and they attend and have an input at our Clinical Governance Board.

Please come and visit us.

The New Deanery is in Bocking, near Braintree in Essex. There is open countryside around us, yet we are close to town, with a bus stop right outside.

Braintree has good shops, hotels, pubs and restaurants in the town itself, and there are many more at the Freeport designer outlet, as well as a cinema and bowling alley.

We are easy to reach by car from the M1, M11 and A120, and have plenty of parking. We are also close to Braintree railway station, with a regular service from London Liverpool Street.
