Welcome Back

For those of us who stayed in Victoria, we were extremely lucky to have two weeks of beautiful weather for the

school holiday period. My family and I stayed home and spent a great deal of time in the garden working our way

through a big list of chores that I had been ignoring for quite some time. I know that Sue spent much time in her

garden as well.

This term we welcome Colby, who is a former student, and new student Arke’ to our school. We are sure that

they will enjoy being part of this wonderful and supportive community.

During Term 2 our teachers will keep their focus on high expectations and effective feedback to enhance stu-

dent learning. This means that all students will be expected to display excellent behaviour and effort and will be

provided with h`igh quality and specific feedback that allows them to understand how they can improve and

achieve their very best.

We hope that all of our students and families had a restful vacation and we welcome you all back for Term 2.

Congratulations

Congratulations to Mrs Francis who has become a proud grandmother during the holidays. Her son Tim and

daughter-in-law Natalie are the delighted parents of Wil. Congratulations also to Estelle and Levi who wel-

comed Ryder into their family just a few days ago.

Chestnut Festival May 5 - Lucky Jars Are Back!

We have now begun collecting Lucky Jars for the upcoming Chestnut Festival. Families are asked to donate at

least one clean jar, filled with suitable items that a child might like to win. Small toys, stationery or wrapped lol-

lies are some suggestions. The grade that collects the most jars per capita will win a class prize. Please hand

them to your child’s teacher.

In the week prior to the festival, we will hand out a paper plate in a bag and we ask that each family contribute a

baked item to be sold at our cake stall. Thank you in advance for supporting Mt Dandy Primary.

Woolworths Earn and Learn

Once again we are participating in the Earn and Learn Program. If you shop at Woolworths or have friends and

relatives who shop there please be sure to collect the stickers, attach them to the sheet supplied by Wool-

worths and submit them here at school. We were able to purchase a large amount of art supplies from last

year’s Earn and Learn points and are hoping to do the same again this year.

Thank you, Michael Leonard and Sue Gibson.

Woolworths Earn and Learn We are excited to be taking part again in the Woolworths Earn & Learn program. You can

help our school by collecting Woolworths Earn & Learn Points. Just collect Woolworths

Earn & Learn Points when you shop at Woolworths between Monday 8 April and Sun-

day 9 June 2013.

We will redeem these for educational resources for our school. Last year our school re-

ceived 23,960 points which were used to purchase a substantial number of resources for

the Art program.

For every $10 spent at Woolworths you will receive a Woolworths Earn & Learn Point.

Put them onto a Woolworths Earn & Learn Points Sheet and once it's completed, just

bring it back to school. The more we collect, the more we can redeem.

We are grateful for your support and look forward to a successful program.
