Just These Lines to Say…..

I am grateful for this season of Lent. My heart and mind turns to the

amazing gift of love, healing and forgiveness we have in the life, death

and resurrection of our Savior, Jesus the Christ. This year, I am seeking to ‘Remember

His Wonders’ and to grow in trust and anticipation in God’s calling in my life and for

Ramsey Church.

I hope and pray that especially during this Lenten season of preparation; you are finding

time to keep with God daily; to be nurtured by God’s life giving Word through your

week; and to worship our Holy God on Sunday mornings. Worship in some ways is like

a holiday dinner in which everyone in the family comes home…and so if you haven’t

been in worship in a while; we would love to have you come home to Ramsey Church!

The New Testament teaches us that the church, Christ’s body, is a place of healing,

reconciliation, and forgiveness. Together we can have faith in the One who brings

peace to our world and to our situations. Together we can keep practicing our faith as

Jesus commanded- gathering, preaching, praying, celebrating sacraments, and going out

to serve as witnesses to the enduring peace and power of Christ in all times and places.

Our church, like any community, changes with time. Babies are born, children grow up,

loved ones and friends grow old. New people move into our community and our

church; friends move to new places to live and serve. May we always remember that

the ministry at Ramsey is Christ’s ministry, entrusted to us as part of his Body. Our

ministry belongs to Jesus and is ongoing. Let us remember that our Lord is faithful,

keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep

his commands. Great is His Faithfulness! As we gather during Lent and as we

experience Holy Week and Easter Resurrection Sunday, will you join with me to

‘Remember His Wonders’ and keep the faith.

As always, it is my great joy and privilege to be your pastor and friend-

Pastor Deb

Saturday March 24, at 5pm

Please come join us in mission and

fellowship!

COMIDA COMUNITARIA GRATUITA:

POR FAVOR , ÚNASE A NOSOTROS EN MISIÓN

Y COMUNIÓN.

I wanted to show my appreciation

for Pastor Deb’s visit in the

hospital shortly after my surgery

and also for the lovely shut-in basket I received

just before the holidays. What a welcomed

treat, not only did I enjoy it, but so did my

entire family. I am blessed to be a part of such

a thoughtful and caring church family.

My Best, Sharon Sayles

Saying “Thank You” doesn’t adequately take care of what I want to say

to the congregation and guests, who supported us for the Valentine

Dinner/Dance on February 10. We fed 103 persons a most delicious

meal prepared by Matt Amason, Benjamin Rodriguez, Dwain Holmes, Ann Hallinan, Katie Smith,

Chante Jacobs, Kathy Holmes, Sue Wheat, Tammy Howe, Kerri Bissett, and Sally Wheat. This is the

most wonderful committee and a hard working committee. The Youth did a fabulous job keeping our

guests served. After dinner, when the band began to play dance music, the Missions Committee came

in and cleaned up for us. They really did a great job and worked extremely hard. It takes lots of peo-

ple to pull off a successful event and we had them. Thank you, thank you.

Pastora, Norma Aguilar.

J.L. FRANCIS READING VOLUNTEERS

Happy Birthday, Theodor S. Geisel !! Oh, you may know him as DR. SEUSS

J. L. Francis Elementary School celebrates Dr. Seuss's birthday with special

reading related events in their classrooms on or near his March 2nd birthday. As

Ramsey UMC is a partner thru Communities in Schools, please join with

others to read to youngsters in grades K thru 5th for their Dr. Seuss Birthday celebration.

We will be celebrating Dr. Seuss on March 2 from 9:30-12:00. We are in need of volunteers(5-6)

to make this day a great day of reading for our students. Volunteers only need to give us 1 hour of

their time. Please see Sally Wheat if you can volunteer your time. Thank you for your support!

The Richmond District Hearts for Justice Tea held on Saturday,

February 17th at Ramsey Memorial UMC was a success due to the

support received from the BUCS and all the Ramsey UMW mem-

bers. We could not have accomplished so much without everyone

working so well together. Thank you so much for all you did to make

Ramsey "Shine" !

March 3rd will be our first UMW Unit Meeting of 2018 at 10:00 am in the Fellowship Hall

at Ramsey UMC. I encourage everyone to attend to receive up to date information about

what the Circles and the Richmond District UMW are working on as well as enjoy great

fellowship.

Hope to see you there! Sue Wheat, President of Ramsey's UMW

It is very hard to put in words how much we

appreciate all of the calls and cards of

sympathy during this

very difficult time.

It was amazing how

God sent us so many

comforting messages.

We could feel the

hugs and prayers from

were in Florida.

Thank you Ramsey.

Our Lenten Spring Offering will

start March 4 and run through

April. Traditionally this fund is used for

maintenance projects not included in the regular

budget. This year our Trustees have made a list

of projects including replacing the roof on the

Woodfin Building and updating bathrooms in the

Sunday School wing. You always give

generously to the Lenten Offering. Last year

we raised about $5700 and we hope to do even

better this year. There will be envelopes in the

pew racks for your convenience.

Thank you for your stewardship.

Friends at Ramsey:

Thank you so much for the goodie bag you sent

SHALOM FARMS

Shalom Farms returns to Ramsey through

March. No market in April and they should be

back with us on a regular schedule by early

May. A fresh produce stand is offered on

Thursday mornings in the

CLC gym.

United Methodist Conference Kits

Every year the United Methodist Women do Kits for Conference such as School Kits,

Health Kits, etc. The same will happen this year but Conference is asking us to do only

three kits --- School Kits, Health Kits, and Flood Buckets. They do not want other kits as

this time. With this said, we thought maybe the congregation might like to help us with

the two kits that we are going to make --- school kits and health kits.

Items that are in a school kit ----- #2 pencils (not sharpened), a box of 24 cray-

ons, 1 pair of children scissors, 1 ruler, spiral notebooks or package of ruled

notebook paper, 1 3-inch eraser, 1 pencil sharpener.

Items that are in a health kit ----- 1 washcloth, 1 hand towel (no kitchen or microfiber), 1

fingernail clipper, bandaids, 1 comb (sturdy not a pocket comb), 1 bar of soap, bath size

3oz., 1 toothbrush (single brush in original wrapper) When you are shopping at the store

just pick an item up for one of these kits. It will be of great help to the ladies in the UMW

of our church. We will have a box in the foyer

marked for Conference Kits for you to place your

items. Thank you so much for your help. It is a

great way to help with Missions.
