Message from the President Where does one begin, it has been a rather whirlwind of events in

recent weeks. For those who are wondering who I am and I know

there must be several of you, I will fill you in.

I am Rick Everett and I have the honor to become your new

president of the Lone Star Section of the Mercedes Benz Club

America. Enough of that for the moment. I will fill you in on my

wife Debbie and myself later.

I want to first acknowledge Arno & Ginny Pitzen, they, and the

Board have served with distinction. Thank YOU! As you may all

be aware, we have inducted a completely new Board. Ginny will

stay on as Webmaster and Communication coordinator.

Your new Board is as follows: Rick Everett President, Dana

Skillman Vice President, Tina Pinion Treasurer, and Frank Irwin

Secretary. Our new Board met in early December to become

acquainted and begin looking at activities for 2017.

We are excited to hear from members as to what new activities

they would like to see and existing activities we should repeat.

THIS IS YOUR CLUB please contribute and assist us in making it

relative to the needs of the whole group.

Ok, now who am I? Debbie and I have been members of the

Mercedes Benz Club for 12 plus years as part of the Portland OR

and Seattle WA sections. We moved to Georgetown Texas from

Bend Oregon in July of 2015. We moved to Texas in July and that

should tell you about my decision-making ability.

My first Mercedes was a 1985 300 E Sport Line; it was a fantastic

car. Debbie and I now have an ML 350, and a 1992 500 SL. I am

not as great a Technical owner as I would like to be, but I do like

working on the ’92. However, I am more of a detail owner. I love

making my cars look like new. Our son was a chemist for

Meguire’s wax and has taught me a few tricks. I am hoping to put

on a detail tech session sometime in the coming year.

Again, thank you for the honor to serve our club, I look forward

to meeting as many club members as possible and to greeting new

members as they join our ranks.

December, 2016 Event Christmas Party

The 2016 Christmas Party was held on December 3 at Onion Creek Country Club. The event began with

cocktails and appetizers, followed by dinner, presentations, installation of new officers and entertainment.

Arno Pitzen began the presentations by thanking the officers who served while he was president, they were VP Norm Glorioso, Secretary Beverly Darilek, Treasurer, Joyce Melugin and Membership

Coordinator, Rob Brown. Each officer and their spouse were presented a personalized Yeti, with the section name, as a gift of appreciation from Arno and Ginny. Following this presentation, he recognized

Beverly Darilek and Joyce Melugin as Members of the Year for the many years of service to the club.

The installation of the new officers, Rick Everett, President, Dana Skillman, Vice President, Frank Irwin, Secretary and Tena Pinion, Treasurer; concluded the announcements by Arno Pitzen.

Tech Session, Eurocharged ATX

David Lehman, from Eurocharged, ATX evaluated the first four cars that registered first

and gave a description of the problem and how it could be fixed. The 20 plus members

that were in attendance were impressed with the information and the facility.
