The multifaceted user-generated approach to OnePeople is a mammoth task that

begins with each person thatchooses to upload videofootage for selection to thewww.onepeopledocumentary.com website.

Ms. Henzell and her team arehoping to get all types of videosubmissions about theJamaican experience; from thescripted and rehearsed to thespontaneous.

There is no limit on the timefor each video entry howevereach upload can be no morethan 2 megabytes. Butpersons can upload videosmultiple times, she said ofpotential video entries whichwill be considered, adding thatWe are going to take all thefootage, edit it down to a 90minute documentary and it willbe premiered next year inmajor cities where Jamaicanswill be celebrating

    independence.Miss Henzell notes

that all guidelines forsubmission are on the websiteincluding the 8 easy steps onhow to prepare content before

submission. An important part of theprocess is the use of music, aspersons are not allowed to addmusic to their videosubmissions.

Instead thedocumentary producers haveenlisted two of Jamaicas mosttalented musicians, Sly andRobbie to create a rhythmtrack that has been madepublicly available for personsto alter and submit for use inthe final documentary. We are thrilled and honouredthat Sly and Robbie the

legendary rhythm twins havedonated an original drum andbase track to the one peopleproject. Anyone can downloadthat track for free legally dowhatever they want with it and

re-upload it to the websiteshe noted. So what happens aftersubmission? Well, its thena team of editors will get towork connecting the dots

between selected submissso as to arrive at a masterpiece.

But the One Peopproject is more than just acelebration of Jamaicas 5independence anniversarycelebrations as its creationwill also give Jamaicanfilmmakers a new source ffunding. Miss Henzell saidthe proceeds from One Pewill be used to establishJamaicas first film fund.So many documentaries been made about Jamaicaother government andproducers, we need to tell own stories, in our own vofrom our own point of viewshe added.

Visit the one peopdocumentary website, reathrough the guidelines andprepare your submissions the project which is fullyendorsed by the Ministries

Culture and Foreign Affairand Foreign Trade. TheDeadline for submission isJanuary 6, 2012. LPM
