Our Lady of Wisdom University Parish in San Marcos sent a thank you note for the $500.00 donation to help with their Challenge Week.

Our Council has sponsored Rachelle Garza to attend the American Legion Girls State that will be held at Texas Lutheran University, Seguin, Texas from June 17-June 23, 2018.

Our Bingo committee (Brothers Paul Davies, Steve Magdich, Bill Schroeder, and Henry Hull) are still deliberating on increasing attendance by holding a drawing for a TV. Current recommendation is that we will possibly will have a drawing the last quarter of this year.

Brothers Paul Deltz, Tom San Miguel, Brad Grimes and David Schlageter of the Prolife Crosses to be placed at cemetery Committee are still working on getting crosses painted.

The Raffle Committee (Brothers Steve Magdich, Jerome Pavliska, Paul Davies, Bill Schroeder, and Gregg Tabor) have not completed their report yet.

David Schlageter report on the defibrillators for the Churches is not completed.

We held a first degree on June 16th and inducted 5 new first degree Knights. They are Brothers Gary Downs, Tyler Krug, Stephen Nishimuta, Shawn Simpson and Leonard Terrien. Pictures are further in this issue.

Our annual 4th of July party here at the hall starts at 4:00 p.m. We will have games and social time. Hamburgers, hot dogs and beans will be provided and we ask you all to bring chips, dips, salads, desserts to go with ice cream or anything you would like to share. Please come out and enjoy the fraternalism and meet more of your brothers and their families.

July 14th will be our quarterly trash pickup along Loop 337. Meet at the hall at 7:00 a.m. for assignment and then after for breakfast refreshments.

I want to congratulate Br. Tony Friesenhahn on his election of Grand Knight. I pray you all support him as much or more than you supported me. I honestly enjoyed being your Grand Knight. While the 2018 Religious Freedom Week officially ended on June 29th, opportunities remain for demonstrating your support for religious freedom. Walk with Catholics for Freedom of Religion, many of your brother knights, and others dedicated to the cause of religious liberty, in the annual 4th of July parade. Meet in front of Sts. Peter & Paul at 9 AM on the 4th. Attend a special Holy Hour and Benediction for the intention of religious freedom on July 5th at 7 PM in Sts. Peter & Paul Church. And of course, don't forget to bring your family to the Council's annual 4th of July social for burgers, dogs, games, and the fireworks display, topped off by ice cream to end the evening.

Annual Fourth of July Fraternal Celebration

Our 4th of July celebration will be here at the hall starting about 4:00 p.m. Bring your board games and socialize before hamburgers, hotdogs, chips, and baked beans are served at 5:00 p.m. Please bring a salad or dessert to share. We will watch the fireworks at about 9:15 p.m. in our parking lot and then go back in the Hall for ice cream while the traffic disperses. Put it on your calendar for this day!!! We will send out an announcement closer to the date. Tom and Cecelia Lussen will be hosting and are requesting volunteers to help out.
