Dear Key Clubbers,

“Only the very weak-minded refuse to be

influenced by literature and poetry,” (Cassandra

Clare). To indulge into the world of literature

opens a door full of endless possibilities and

knowledge. However, key clubbers open doors

too you know. We open a door of service help-

ing to make the world a better place. We were

lucky enough to bring smiles across the faces of

kindergarteners simply by reading to them and

playing with them during field day. It sure feels

good to be a member of key club.

In Caring and Service,

Jacqueline Salgado

Introduction

“The more that

you read, the

more things you

will know. The

more that you

learn, the more

places you’ll

go,” (Dr. Seuss).

In key club

there’s no such

thing as foes. We

all work together

to create a better

world for future

generations. Vol-

unteering at local

hospitals to visit

patients. Or per-

haps collecting

food for the less

fortunate. Key

clubbers are al-

ways ready to

lend a helping

hand. This month

we participated in

the Major Empha-

sis: “Children:

Their Future, Our

Focus.” By going

to read to kinder-

garteners on

Read Across

America Day we

helped their read-

ing skills improve

which will cer-

tainly help them

in the future. The

following day we

returned to take

part in their field

day which keeps

them fit and hap-

py. The kinder-

garteners had a

blast and we felt

great just by see-

ing them con-

stantly smiling.
