The KaLu Curriculum Guide Sash IThe KaLu Curriculum Guide is presented as an educational assistant to the developing Skarab. This text can be used within an established KaLu Akademy facility or in a home school setting. Student progress is monitored by their mastery of Key concepts. They are awarded Keys and Patches as they complete the material and once all Keys and Patches of a particular Sash are collected, they are then awarded that Sash.

Creating a curriculum in this day and time is important because of the necessity to reclaim the right to groom and monitor the development of our own children. We have allowed Western education and the “public school system” to make us passive and even unconcerned at times when it comes to the evolution of our children. So much so that we have sat by idly and watched the degeneration of the mindstate of an entire generation of our children.

We have placed too much power in the hands of “others” in terms of our children’s development and in doing that have lost the core values that made our households stable, our communities strong and our future as a collective bright.

There will be auxiliary materials to go along with this text such as workbooks, worksheets and texts. When administering this curriculum, remember to always seek the point of entrance for each child. Each student has their own rate of acceleration and if giving the proper resources, guidance and an ear to hear them will excel at magnificent speeds without the necessity for constant prodding and reminding from a so-called authoritative figure. Remember, once they have acquired the “thirst for knowledge”, nothing can stop their evolution. We just have to be there to guide it.

The KaLu Curriculum Guide Sash IEach Subject is broken down into 19 areas or Keys (y) which are awarded to the student as they master each section. Once all 19 Keys (y) are acquired, the student then receives the patch for that particular subject. Each Key ( ) is broken down into four Pillars (Discussion, Written, Memorized & Applied). All Subjects follow this format. Once all Patches have been acquired for a particular Sash level, the student receives their next sash by way of a Sash Ceremony, held yearly.

Sash ISash I is the beginning of the academy level of education through KaLu. The Early Development Sash gave the student a strong foundation with which to build from and now Sash I will begin the fine tuning process. If a student has been through the Early Development Sash before starting Sash I, many of the lessons will be merely review but if a student is beginning with Sash I, all of the Key information will be new to them.

Sash I begins the students foray into the established academy subjects such as Global Mathematics, English Grammar & Etymology, Geography, Science & Right Knowledge and introduces them to subjects created especially for the academy. These subjects are: Ourstory, Spirituality, Nubian History, Nubian Literature, The Mind & Human Nature and Business & Finance.

These courses are designed as a template to “drop in” the necessary research, texts, worksheets, etc. that will complete the package. For Educator and Parents, you will be going back to school as well in a sense, because you will want to learn about the exciting and enlightening information that is coming through the academy as well.

Sash IEach Subject is broken down into 19 Keys (Ankhs). Students are encouraged to not just try to complete each section but to Master each section for with Mastery comes the Key (Ankh) to the next realm of information. Within each Key (Ankh) there are four sections of study. The first section Discussion is specifically for communication between the Educator and the students(s). Written is for all subject material that is written down, drawn, colored, etc. If the student has to use a pen, pencil, marker, crayon, etc., this section will cover that. Next is the Memorized section. This section is for all subject matter that has to be memorized. Words, pictures, information, supplications, etc. all fall under this section. Finally, the Applied section covers the application and presentation of all information learned. Students will show the Educator and or groups that they have indeed mastered the curriculum for this particular Key. Upon successful presentation, a small ritual is held and students are presented with their Keys.

After all four Pillars are covered, room is left for any and all auxiliary materials that were used in teaching the lesson. Educators can write in or create a separate chart to keep up with their materials for future use.

Note to Parents & Educators

The focus of The KaLu Kurriculum is to encourage the spiritual, cultural and social development of the child. Information is really a non-issue because a child can sit at a computer for 3 to 6 months and know enough to pass any standardized test. So, it’s not about “stuffing” information into our children’s heads but about grooming them to become the best of what they represent genetically.

The most important part of jump starting this curriculum is the ritual of the acquisition of the KEYS. When a child overstands that their efforts and mastery of the subject matter will award them an actual KEY/ANKH that will be a motivator in itself. Also, explaining the importance and meaning of the ANKH is paramount because a child will cherish the ANKH once they have acquired it.

Once all 19 KEYS have been acquired in a particular subject area, the student will be requested to present their “KEY CHAIN” which is a key holder with all nineteen ANKHS that the student has attained. They present their “KEYS” and are rewarded a PATCH that is sewn on their SASH. All of this is part of the ritual of grooming our children to become Masters of their legacy, the future of their genetics.

Conferences and seminars will be held demonstrating the various techniques of the KaLu Kurriculum and we will welcome techniques that are developed by you the parent and educator. A concept like this of course, takes years to complete so we want the curriculum and all accompanying materials to be as organic as possible so that our efforts to groom our children for greatness won’t be interrupted by what is happening in the world but their awareness won’t suffer either.

Using The KaLu Curriculum Guide

This Guide is simply designed to maximize the educator’s creativity while at the same time covering all necessary areas. Since the KaLu Curriculum isn’t designed based on a “Standardized Grading System” the student is free to learn at their own pace.

The Early Development Sash can begin as early as three years old and is a four year template of study. If a child shows an advanced rate of aptitude, they can finish the sash within as few as two years and move to Sash I level study.

The format is basic, broken down into nineteen areas of study per Patch (subject) for all areas of study for the particular sash. The boxed in area is a summary of that particular area of learning:

Synopsis – Children are given a verbal introduction to the subject of Ourstory. Ourstory is the study of historical events that deal specifically with the genetics, lineage and concern of the Nubian as it relates to the rest of the world. Ourstory will be explained from the perspective of information documented and published by Ph.D. and author Dr. Malachi K. York. Supplemental texts from other Nubian authors will also be used to support the teachings, views and concepts of all of Dr. York’s writings.

After the summary, the lessons are divided into four sections: Discussion, Written, Memorized and Applied. For each section, a particular strength will be developed as the child progresses. In Discussion, the student will learn listening skills as well as develop in the area of comprehension. In Written, all worksheets, written activities, crafts and other points dealing with the students dexterity will be developed. In Memorized, the student will focus on memorization of specific subject matter through repetition and visual application. In Applied, students will show their mastery of the subject matter by way of verbal demonstration, project presentation and/or group presentation.

When a student has shown mastery (not proficiency) in a particular Key area, they are rewarded an ANKH which symbolizes their mastery and desire to move to the next level of awareness. There will be a companion pamphlet that is available soon that describes all the major rituals and ceremonies for The KaLu Akademy that can be done either at home or in a KaLu educational setting.

Key lessons can be completed within a five day week or can be as long as two months depending on the specificity of the materials and complexity of the subject matter. However, it is not advised to rush through Keys and never to award a Key when a child shows just mediocrity. The focus is to groom the child to be their best.

Again, the focus is more on the ritual as opposed to the subject matter. When a child overstands the importance of the ritual of initiation into higher levels of knowledge through mastery of previous levels, the thirst for knowledge will have truly been established within their hearts and subject matter won’t even be an issue. The child will seek out the subject matter and look forward to mastering all they can get their hands on.

The KaLu Curriculum Guide Sash IThe Educator or Parent should fill out the area after each Key that asks for what worksheets, texts and/or materials were used in this Key. This will assist in creating a stabilized educational curriculum for a day to day KaLu Akademy that will be established in many places around the planet soon.

After the materials area, there is a basic table. This table is for Educators and Parents who are administered this curriculum to keep up with the steps they took to complete all four areas of the subject matter. There is room for nine steps which is the highest we suggest you go but you can always use fewer steps. This also helps the Instructor to keep up with their progress and gauge where the student is in their learning.

Ourstory – O1900119 Keys

At Sash Level I, the student is encouraged to begin their journey into perfecting the knowledge of who and what they are, what potential they possess and where in the universe they are from. The Ourstory curriculum will become more specific, dealing with information from prominent “Ourstorical” texts and scriptures. The student will complete their mental backdrop of Ourstory as continued from the Early Development Sash which will solidify the student’s self awareness and esteem.

Although Ourstory is an elective, we strongly suggest that all students attending the academy or participating in the curriculum take it at least for one year to expand their exposure to some very meaningful information.

The 1st Sash of Science & Right Knowledge will give the student a glimpse into the basic functions and relations science has in their life. Based completely on introductory information from all levels of science as well as principles from Supreme Mathematics, Science & Right Knowledge will assist the student in making sense of his or her environment.

The Science & Right Knowledge course will not be administered the “traditionally accepted” way but all areas of scientific awareness will be taught as one curriculum and lessons will shift back and forth between various scientific schools of thought (biology, chemistry, physics, etc.) In the second and third sashes, students will be able to master specific principles from each field. 19 KeysNubian Literature is just as important as Nubian History. It is a widely spread notion that the sooner a child learns to read, the better they will do in their educational development. There, however, is a dark side to that notion. If a child is reading books written in English or even by European authors, they will not only learn language concepts but they will also begin to take on the mentality of the authors of those

books. Even pre-school and children’s books echo the mentality of their authors so it is of utmost importance that we monitor the types of reading material are children are given.

Culturally, we didn’t read as much as we listened to the stories of the Griots and Elders of our tribes and villages. That is how the traditions, principles and etiquette of our Ancestors were passed down from

generation to generation. In Nubian Literature, we will build off of that principle while at the same time exposing our children to Nubian authors.

AssessmentFor Academy age students, there will always be a concern of the parents and educators for the necessity of standardized testing and assessment. While we don’t discourage these types of individualizing methods of testing students, we don’t do “standardized testing” at the academy. Instead, we focus on group presentations, individual mastery of Key points and applied awareness of tasks completed.

If you still want your student to be tested, we have included some practice websites to assist the student in knowing what to expect on those tests. The KaLu Kurriculum is specifically designed NOT to indoctrinate the student so much of what is found on standardized testing may not be supported by our curriculum.

The links above are not nationally unified but rather for particular states. You can find assessment sample tests in your state if you prefer. These sites can be used, however, because many of the questions in assessment tests are similar. The reasoning for these tests is to gauge how well a student has been indoctrinated into Western thinking so it doesn’t matter.

We will begin offering our own version of assessment soon where students will be tested on their mastery of subject materials, their ability to utilize their knowledge in practical situations and their ability to work alone or with a group. Stay tuned!
