Since they were so long, I got bored and we missed 3 hours of our life that we will not get back, which is really not cool. Now you can see the little “duck exhibit” outside the 4th grade hall. Miracle was probably being bullied because she was smaller than the other chicks. That reminds me of bullies because sometimes kids get bullied by other kids because they are different. That's why Mrs. Hunt left Miracle with the ducks, because she thought they would be nicer. EOGs Before & After By: Grace & Alaysia 3

perspective of students who have never taken the EOGs.

Before: The EOGs are getting closer and closer! 3rd, 4th and 5th grade, are you ready? Right now some people are stressed like us. Some are excited and some are worried or nervous. Why would we be nervous? you ask. Well, we are nervous because if we fail we have to go to summer school. After: The EOGs were not as hard as we thought. Even though we felt we were prepared to take the tests, some of us felt so nervous. We even felt like we were going to throw up. The EOGs were too long. Since they were so long, I got bored and we missed 3 hours of our life that we will not get back, which is really not cool. Now that we’re getting our scores, some of us are nervous and some are excited. We’re full of emotions! We all hope we pass the big moment! So nervous.

The Baby Ducklings with a Miracle By: James 4th Grade

Outside the 4th grade hallway, there is a cage with baby ducklings. (and a chick named Miracle). There used to be baby chicks in the 4th grade hallway but they went back to a farm. The other chicks were being bullies to Miracle so Mrs. Hunt moved Miracle with the ducks, because she thought that the ducks would be nicer, and they were! Turns out, they were. Miracle was dropped by a kid in Mrs. Hunt’s class. Miracle was actually born normally. Nothing happened to her except she was a lot smaller than the other chicks.

Chromebook vs. Windows Laptop

If you’ve seen the new Chromebooks in 4th & 5th grades, you may have wondered about them. Are they better laptops? Are they difficult to learn?

76 students and staff were surveyed for their opinions. 80% preferred Chromebooks. 8% preferred the Windows laptop and 12% had no preference. Here are some comments.

No Preference 12%:

I like both because I can use it like as long as it works I’m good with what I use.

It is a laptop and I think it is the same thing as any old laptop. You can do the same thing on both laptops.

I really don't care about what we have because as long as we have computers its okay with me. At the school I went to before we didn't have computers or electronics at all.

Prefer Windows Laptop 8%:

I feel like they load faster. Look much better

As a teacher I prefer the windows because the chromebooks do not have the features that I like to use on the computer such as Word and PowerPoint. I prefer those because they are more accessible and easier to use.

Prefer Chromebooks 80%:

I like Chromebooks because they have faster internet speed. I also like them because they have more websites and it runs smoother.

I think we should use chromebooks because it saves your stuff that way you don’t have to save it yourself. Another thing is you can change your background. My last thing is I think the screen is bigger.

Continued next column…

I prefer Chromebooks because they are easier to use, because they are not as complex as most computers are.

I prefer Chromebooks cause it's better. It's faster than the windows laptops and it has more windows or files than the window laptops have. It's also better because this computer ain't old but the window laptops are very old.

Magic Show, Dunking Booth, Face Painting, Food, Oh my…

Paw-Palooza By: Carol 4

th Grade

Thank you so much Mrs. Hunt for the end-of-year Paw-Palooza! It was amazing! It was so fun no one stood around doing nothing. The lines were long at the bouncy houses, and the food was delicious. There were very good jugglers. If that was not your thing, you could mozy on down to Hawaii for volleyball. The magic show really hit it off. The magician was really good! One of the tricks was making 2 balls go through cups. Before and after each trick, he

kept saying, “During summer it’s important to stay hydrated.” Each time he filled a cup with liquid, it emptied again and he didn’t drink any. For another trick, he put balls in a container in order of green, yellow then red. They always came out in different order. “Mr. Fahnrich, can you swim?” That question was asked commonly throughout the day. The dunking booth was really fun. Other teachers and a police officer volunteered. So, if you didn’t go this year, aim for next year! Paw-Palooza YAY!
