• short-term and long-term mentoring in a faculty development and medical education project

• an established relationship with the course faculty for long-term career enhancement

Course Faculty and ManualWe have lined up a very impressive group of educators to deliver the course.

Our faculty include: Rob Rogers, MD, Haney Mallemat, MD, Michelle Lin, MD, Amal Mattu, MD, Mike Bond, MD, Mike Stone, MD, Mike Cadogan, MB, ChB, FACEM, Terry Mulligan, DO and many many more.

Course faculty have won dozens of local, national, and international teaching awards.

Integration of Social Media and Medical EducationThis cutting-edge medical education and faculty development course relies heavily on the integration of social media (like Twitter) and education technology. Live Twitter feeds will be utilized during the course and will be organized under the hashtag #IEMTC13. The course will employ a “flip the classroom” approach by having attendees do some preparation before the course even starts, thus freeing up class time for in-depth discussions. Many of the topics (like the teaching labs) will be taught utilizing an observational tool, whereby the attendees will actually attend teaching labs and critique and evaluate real-time teaching.

Many of lectures will be broadcasted live with the use of the LiveStream Broadcaster. Social media, medical education technology, and the shear talent of our faculty will combine to make for an educational extravaganza that you won’t want to miss. This years course will feature the first annual MeduBrawl, a moderated debate between Rob Rogers, Amal Mattu, Michelle Lin, and Mike Cagogan. You will not want to miss this educational smackdown!

What’s New for 2013?• more sessions on educational technology• enhanced sessions on making your own podcast and digital

media and how to get them out to the world!• award-winning guest speakers• addition of how to teach ultrasound• shorter days to allow for more time to enjoy Baltimore• more interactive sessions• “flip the course” model of teaching-some of the 2012 lectures

will be delivered to course attendees before the course, so more interaction can take place during the live course. Paid registrants will receive a “flip the course” learning packet prior to the course.

• ½ day of mini-SMACC (Social Media and Critical Care), starring Mike Cadogan, Rob Rogers, Michelle Lin, and Haney Mallemat.

• a plethora of networking opportunities with course teaching faculty and with other attendees

• group dinners (even more than 2012)
