We Dedicate This Newsletter To Timeware’s Latest Innovation

Timeware’s greatest strength is the creativity and capability of its software engineers and designers. And so, we believe our path to success can only be achieved by our continuous innovation. For this reason, the company has spent the last 9 months developing a new generation of Bioscreen™ hardware and software we call the Bioscreen™ 7t. Our motivation has been fueled by recent changes in technology and the ever-expanding needs and requirements by our clients.

This new generation machine is called The Bioscreen™ 7t. It packs twice the power of its predecessor with more powerful and easy to use software. Better yet, it will be offered at a much-reduced price. We found the savings and we’re passing them back to our clients. Continued on page 2

Elegant and easy user interface Across the board, we are certain that the user experience will be much better with the Bioscreen™ 7t. For attendance, HR, and for identity registration, the process is streamlined and years of know how and experience led us to the best

machine design possible.

Expanded authentication options In the past, we offered 3 levels of authentication & security: Badge, Biometric Fingerprint and RFID. With the Bioscreen™ 7t we’ve expanded our authentication options to include Mobile ID and Photo ID. The mobile ID works in conjunction with the badge number entry to authenticate the user. Similarly, the user may enter a badge number then snap a photo. As always, the authentication requirements are configurable. With the Bioscreen™ 7t however, more options are available and they can be configured into four authentication policies where any one policy will be sufficient to authenticate a user. For example, the following authentication configuration policies are possible:• Policy #1: Badge number and biometric fingerprint • Policy#2: Badge number and Mobile ID• Policy#3: Badge and Photo ID• Policy#4: Badge and RFID

Practical authentication methods Even in a perfect environment, user authentication remains a challenge to any system. Biometric fingerprint reader fails or takes too long to read, user has left the RFID card behind, etc. Our experience in this domain has led us to be creative and innovative by identifying 2 additional methods of authentication namely: Mobile ID and Photo ID. These two methods are simple to use and provide immediate and positive user identification. And

best of all they do not cost anything.

Above and beyond functionality When it comes to workforce management, other vendors may provide the basics, but Timeware delivers “the world”.

Superior Time & Attendance While other vendors offer basic time & attendance systems, Timeware engineered a time & attendance solution that handles almost every known challenge in this area. All of it is provided via an elegant and easy to use touch screen interface with list selection options for worked job, button selection option for lunch breaks, button selection option for shift splitting, and much more. Furthermore, the Bioscreen™ 7t machine can be used to communicate messages with the user, allow the user to request leave time, as well as many other HR related functions. And lastly, The Bioscreen™ 7t offers a Web Link function that

allows for linking the machine to a custom web page.

Schedule Complete Function What happens when the employee returns to work after he/she misses a workday. In most situations, a time keeper will manually record the user absence. In Timeware, the user can use the Schedule Complete function to take

leave for the missed day.

Shift Complete Function What happens when the employee ends up working off-shift hours without the ability to be on the clock? The Bioscreen™ may be configured with a Shift Complete function where the employee may enter start and end time on a specific job. Furthermore, what if the employee was not able to be on the clock to clock in/out? The employee may then use the Shift Complete function to

punch in/out accordingly.

The Ohio School Council in-service is an annual event hosted by OSC at the OSC offices in Independence Ohio. All Timeware clients and OSC members will be invited to attend this event. It is an semi-annual

educational and informational event.

SunGard InterfaceMany existing and new clients are deploying the SunGard eFinancePlus ERP package for their HR, financials and payroll management. For the purpose of integrating Timeware Primetime™ with the eFinancePlus product, Timeware has an existing flat file interface that can be used for loading employee demographic information, employee job assignment and the employee accrued leave balances. Timeware also has an existing payroll export interface that produces a flat file with payroll data to be loaded into the eFinancePlus software.

But in order to improve this interface, Timeware and SunGard are working on a web service based interface that makes the product integration seamless and more efficient. In the near future, Timeware will load any relevant data it needs from SunGard eFinance. It will certainly include the employee demographic information, the employee job assignment and the employee accrued leave balances. efforts will also be made to make the payroll interface use web services instead of flat file loading.

For this purpose, we encourage our clients, or potential clients, to get in touch and let us know their conversion plans and schedule. That will be very helpful to us with resource allocation and scheduling. Furthermore, many clients may have their own specific requirements where the eFinancePlus interface for them is different from the norm. Knowing that is very helpful as well.

Network-Server Deployment This remains our largest deployment base for the foreseeable future. It’s main benefit is the system data remains on site, a feature many of our clients still prefer. More and more clients are considering alternative options because the server hardware and maintenance cost it requires. In this configuration, a host server will be hosted on the client network, and all the Bioscreen™ machines and the workstations running the Timeware Primetime™ client software will connect to the

host server using the client network.

Cloud Hosted Deployment This option is becoming more and more desirable by our clients. It’s main benefit is a major reduction in the server hardware and maintenance cost. Another advantage for this deployment, is that it opens the possibility of installing the Bioscreen™ machines anywhere. In this configuration, a Timeware provided cloud server will be hosted on the Web, then all the Bioscreen™ machines and all the workstations running the Timeware Primetime™ client software will

connect to the cloud hosted server using the internet.

Bioscreen™ Web Up until recently we offered our clients web based self-service software that allowed the client users to perform clock in/out, take leave requests as well as perform other HR functions. Even though this self-service software performed well and did the job, we wanted to create a uniform user interface among our applications. Thus, we created the Bioscreen™ Web application. The Bioscreen™ Web application is everything the Bioscreen™ does but on the Web. The Bioscreen™ Web user interface is exactly the same as that of the Bioscreen™ machine. The Bioscreen™ Web offers the same user

interface our clients are familiar with and the same powerful applications the Bioscreen™ contains.

Primetime Web Following on the footsteps of creating the Bioscreen™ Web, our software engineers and developers are now moving ahead with the Timeware Primetime™ Web. This application will finally make Timeware Primetime™ a pure web

application. It will run anywhere and will not require installation or periodical updates.

Deployment Case Study Let’s assume the client workforce consists of the following groups: custodians on site, food service workers on site, transportation workers on and off site, substitutes on site, events and security workers on and off site, secretaries and paraprofessionals on site. In this case the Timeware Primetime™ and Bioscreen™ solution can handle every employee no matter where they are. On site employees, can securely use the Bioscreen™ machine and the off site employees can

use the Bioscreen™ Web software all in real time with the same user interface.

Expanded Deployment Options

In the past, Timeware Primetime™ and the Bioscreen™ machines have been deployed in a network-server environ-ment. Recently, we’ve made advances in our software development that make it possible to deploy our software as a pure web solution, a hybrid client-server-web, and deployment as a cloud hosted solution. This includes the Timeware Primetime™ software and the Bioscreen™ software.
