Dear Friends,

In 2018 the Illinois Center for Autism celebrated its 41st

year of

service to individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder and their

families. Thanks to the dedication of our staff and the support of

our donors and volunteers 2018 was a banner year. We saw an

increase in demand and delivery of services in all 3 of our programs

– Special Day School Program, Adult Services Program, and Client/

Family Support Program. Fortunately, our supporters helped us

rise to the occasion by setting new records at 2 of our special

events – the Light Up The Night Dinner Auction and the Jim Quirk

Memorial Pedal For Autism.

Here is just one of our many success stories from 2018:

One of ICA’s students was profiled in his local newspaper for

starting his own successful lawn care business. This same

student got a part-job in his community in October and is on

track to graduate with a diploma in December. This success is

the result of hard work put in by this student, his family, and

staff from all 3 of our programs over the last 7 years and the

financial support of our donors that make dreams come true.

Currently, the Centers for Disease Control cites the incidence rate

of autism as 1 in 59 children. With demand for services increasing,

we are continually challenged to expand the services we provide in

to the community. We are grateful for the opportunity to steward

this agency with a legacy of making a lasting and positive impact

on our community. With your support we will continue to make

miracles happen everyday.

Sincerely,

Troy Metheney Joy Rick

Special Day School – 89% of students experienced

fewer mental, emotional and/or behavioral

symptoms compared to prior year.

ICA’s Day School Program served 141 children

ages 3-21 and is approved by the Illinois State

Board of Education. ICA’s Day School Program

provides year-round programing, using a variety

of evidence based practices.

Adult Services – 82% of Clients improved

or maintained their level of

functioning.

ICA’s Adult Services Program served

37 adults with autism and other

related disorders who require structured supports and

vocational skills training. We create an interactive and

engaging atmosphere where learning and growth are fostered.

Client/Family Support Services – 90% of clients

achieved a sense of belonging.

ICA’s Client/Family Support Program provided social
