They work hard and represent our Pirates with class! Thanks to Ms Ashley Teal and Mrs. Deeann Ashley for their commitment to building champion cheerleaders. We would like to give special thanks to all of our parents and teachers who worked the tournament this week. Also, Melanie Morrison and Patrick Williams did an exceptional job organizing and planning. All of the hard work and dedication to our players is greatly appreciated. We would like to give thanks to our Marshall County Legislators for their financial assistance to our library. A very special thank you to Mrs. McRae for all of her efforts to make sure our students have all the resources they need! We are still collecting Box Tops for Education. Boaz City Schools & Boaz High School We have a new face in the Boaz City School System her name is Dr. Shannon H. Stanley and she is the new BCSS Superintendent. Dr. Stanley was raised in Oxford Alabama and went to the University of Alabama to get her teaching degree. She has two boys, one 17 years old named Harrison and one ten years old named Jess. She loves to do anything outdoor like hiking, fishing, gardening, and loves to travel but most of all she loves her students. One of the questions asked was, what made her come to the Boaz City School System? She said, “It took me less than a day to decide that I wanted to bring my family here and be part of this community”. She said it was a special community that comes together as a family inside and outside

of school and she could see that it was a good environment for her and her family. When asked what goals she has planned for our school system as a whole? She said, “I want the kids to be able to hold their future in their hands and for them to connect with the community like we should all do”. She wants all of the teachers to be involved with the students and that the students work should not go unnoticed. Mrs. Stanley wants to make sure our finances are in order but, in a way that it doesn’t hurt our students in their pathway through school. When questioned about what motivates her to get up and come to school every day? She said that she feels like she can make a difference in the school system. Also, she sees that the students and teachers make a good team and that she wants be part of that team and of the school family. Dr. Stanley has already been to basketball games and when she first came here she attended a couple of football games. She can’t wait to see our many other sports go out and win. She said that use of good practices in our teachers could help our students and teachers need to help the students reach their goal in life. We welcome Dr. Stanley to the BCSS family.
