The Greatest of Islamic Civilization

1. Islamic civilization dignifies human beings, because Allah has created everything and preferred thehuman beings over all the other creations, as Allah says in Quran Suwrah 17, We have honored

the sons of Adam, provided them with transport on land and sea, given them things for sustenance

good and pure, and conferred on them special favors above a great part of our creation.2.And as our prophet Muhammad says in a sound Hadith, I swear by Allah that the honor of

Muslim is more than any other creation, even the holy house of Allah (Kabaa). So, once you

become a Muslim, you are in peace and harmony with everything in the universe, as Allah says in

Suwrah 67, He has made the earth available for you, so you can walk easily through its tracts and

enjoy the sustenance which He furnishes, but finally unto Him is the resurrection. Once you

become a Muslim, you are following the optimal path of the Creator for His creations in His

universe, as Allah says in Suwrah 16, Whoever works righteousness, man or woman, and has

faith, verily, to him will We give a comfortable life, a life that is good and pure, and We will

reward them in the last day according to the best of their actions.3. Islamic civilization improves human condition and elevates it, not corrupts it, as Allah says in

Suwrah 7, Do no mischief to disintegrate on the earth, after it has been set in order, but call on

Him with fear and longing in your hearts: for the Mercy of Allah is always near those who do

good.

4. Islamic civilization is a universal civilizationfor everything in existence.As Allah says in Suwrah 7, Say, O mankind, I am the messenger of Allah to all of you, the owner

of the heavens and earths. There is no god but Allah. He gives both life and death, so believe in

Allah and His Messenger Muhammad, who believes in Allah and His words, and follow him may

you be guided. And as Allah says in Suwrah 21, We sent you Muhammad, as a mercy for allcreatures.

5. Islamic civilization provides us with our code of conduct and guidelines for both peace and war.As Allah says in Suwrah 20, I will guide you to the best of guidance and whosoever follows My

guidance, he will neither lose his way, nor go astray . Otherwise he will be in a bad situation in this

world and the day after. As Allah says in Suwrah 20, But he who turned away from remembrance of

Me will have a tight and difficult life, and We shall bring him back blind to the assembly on the day of

resurrection, he will say, O Allah! Why did you resurrect me blind when I was able to see? He will

respond, So must it be, because our revelations came unto you, but you forgot them. In the same

manner, you are forgotten on this day."6. Islamic civilization is a divine civilization from the Creator of the universe. It is not manmade. It

belongs to our Creator Allah. As Allah says in Suwrah 45, And now We put you Muhammad on a

clear road (the right way of religion), so follow it, and do not follow the desires of those who do

not know.

And as Allah says in Suwrah 67, Does He who created not know, while He is the kind, the

acquainted? And as Allah says in Suwrah 22, O People, if you should be in doubt about the

resurrection, then indeed, We created you from dust, then from a sperm-drop, then from a clinging

clot, and then from a lump of flesh, formed and unformedthat We may show you. And We settle

you in the wombs where We will for a specified term, then We bring you out as a child, and thenWe develop you that you may reach your time of maturity. And among you is he who is taken in

early death and among you is he who is returned to the most decrepit old age, who will not be able

to recognize and understand what is really happening around him.

7. Islamic civilization is a positive and optimistic civilization. It is a civilization of promise and hope.As Allah says in Suwrah 8, O you who believe! Obey Allah and the messenger when He called you to

that which will give you life.

And as Allah says in Suwrah 2, Indeed, those who believe and do righteous deeds and establish

prayer and give zakah (donation) will have their reward with their Lord, and there will be no fear

concerning them, nor will they grieve. This optimistic is not only in this world but also on the day ofjudgment, as Allah says in Suwrah 16, Whoever works righteousness, man or woman, and has faith,

verily, to him will We give a comfortable life, a life that is good and pure, and We will reward them in the

last day according to the best of their actions.

8. Islamic civilization is comprehensive and addresses all aspects of the human existence.It offers a clear moral code for every aspect of our life.

It leaves no questions about how we should act or behave in any situation.

It defines for us the best manners and behaviors for all circumstances and situations. As Allah says

in Suwrah 6, Say Muhammad, truly, my prayer, my ritual, my life, and my death are all for Allah,

Lord of the Worlds, no partner with Him, what I have been commanded from Allah.As Allah says in Suwrah 2, O you who believe! Enter into Islam whole-heartedly; and do not

follow the footsteps of the evil, he is an open enemy for you. And as Allah says in Suwrah 2, So do

you believe in part of the Scripture and disbelieve in part? Then what is the recompense for those who

do that among you except disgrace in worldly life? So on the day of resurrection, they will be sent back

to the severest of punishment. And Allah is not unaware of what you do.

9. Islamic civilization provides us with balance, fairness and justice for all our life. Do not go faraway or be fanatic, but follow a way between, as Allah says in Suwrah 17, And do not let your

hand be chained to the neck, nor stretch it with a complete opening.

And as Allah says in Suwrah 4,O you who believe, be persistently standing firm in justice, witness

for Allah, even if it is against yourselves or parents and relatives. No matter rich or poor, Allah will take

care of both. So dont follow personal desire, lest you not be just. And if you refuse to give it, then indeed

Allah is the most aware of all your deeds

Also Allah says in Suwrah 5, O you who have believed, be persistently standing firm for Allah,

witness in justice, and do not let the hatred of a people prevent you from being just. Be just; that is nearer

to righteousness. And fear Allah; indeed, Allah is acquainted with what you do.

10.Islamic civilization goes beyond the current existence. It offers us guidance and insight. Itaddresses our existence after this life.

This is a very important issue to keep in mind that Allah does not create us for this world, but for

the hereafter, so our life in this world is temporary. Therefore, after we pass away, Allah will collect

all of us on the day of judgment. After accounting us, we will live forever. So we should look forward

to the last day. As Allah says in Suwrah 28, But seek, with the wealth which Allah has given you, the

home of the hereafter. Do not forget your portion in this world, but do good, as Allah has been good to

you; and do not seek corruption on the earth, indeed Allah does not love corrupters.

As Allah says in Suwrah 29, This worldly life is but diversion and amusement. And indeed, the home

of the hereafter is the eternal life, if only they knew.

And as Allah says in Suwrah 40, O my people, this worldly life is only temporary enjoyment, and

indeed, the hereafter is the home of permanent settlement.

11.Islamic civilization is a spiritual civilization.It emphasizes the consequences of this existence on the after life, and tells us how our actions in

this life will impact our future on the day of judgment.

It tells us how we will be judged by our Creator, as Allah says in Suwrah 14, Allah will repay each

soul what it has earned, and verily Allah will account all His creations in a short time .

And Allah says in Suwrah 40, On judgment day, everyone will be recompensed for what he earned.

No injustice will exist at that time! Indeed, Allah is swift in account.

And as Allah says in Suwrah 21, And We place the scales of justice for the day of resurrection, so no

soul will be treated unjustly at all. And if there is even the weight of a mustard seed, We will bring itforth. And sufficient are We as accountant.

12.Islamic civilization provides mankind with both a safe and secure existence.As Allah says in Suwrah 6, Those who believe and do not confuse their beliefs by wrongdoing are

truly in security, and they are rightly guided.

And as Allah says in Suwrah 7, And if only the people of the cities had believed and feared Allah, We

would have opened upon them blessings from the heaven and the earth; but they denied the messengers,

so We seized them for what they were earning.

Once Islamic civilization subsided on earth, the emerging civilization that replaced it would be

characterized by aggressiveness and exploitation of all living things.

A civilization of selfishness, corruption and greed.

A civilization that allows many evils to flourish.

We can give many examples of these evils that are flourishing in our world today:

1. Loss of morality and manners.2. Disintegration of the family structure.3. Increase in ethnic violence and hatred.4. Increase in unwed birth.5. Increase in divorce rates.6. Destruction of our environment.7. Increase in poverty around the world and an unprecedented economic crisis.

In conclusion, under the religion of Islam, everyone will be in happiness and satisfaction, not only in

this world but also in the last day, because Islam means:

1. One Creator = One Owner = One God2. Human being is the same since Adam, having the same basic needs. No matter what kind of

civilization they live, Islamic civilization is encouraging the society to improve a better life.

3. Same message, same source, same words and same path (Submitting to almighty Allah and followHis guidelines).

4. Thousands of human prophets and messengers had carried the same message from Allah, so noone will have any excuse or justification on judgment day.

5. Allah sent down one messenger from angels, the arch angel Gabriel, upon all messengers sinceAdam till the last messenger Muhammad (peace be upon all of them).

6. Adam, Noah, Enoch, Abraham, Isaac, Ishmael, Jonah, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, Solomon, David,John, Zechariah, Jesus and Muhammad are all brothers holding the same message from Allah to

people in earth through thousands of years and they did share the same belief.

7. If I were during the period of Noah or any other messenger in his period, definitely I would followthem; and if all those messengers were living during the period of the prophet Muhammad, surlythey would follow him as his companions.

Finally, I would like to emphasis that Islam is not only a civilization in this life, it is also a

comprehensive system which leads us to paradise in the judgment day.
