Sherman County rural firemen from Goodland and Kanorado (below right) responded to a call from help from Kit Carson County to fight a large corn field fire (above) northwest of

Kanorado on Friday afternoon. Kanorado trucks and a water tanker helped the Burlington firemen control the fire.

Tell a firemen ‘thank you’ the next time you meet one

Goodland Firemen (above) helped load a patient on a Denver Air Life helicopter at the helicopter landing area north of the Goodland Regional Medical Center last week. The fire department brought the specially equipped fire truck from the airport to be on standby as the helicopter landed and as it took off (below) on its way back to Denver.
