following the murder of the young Alexander on the evening of 6thDecember 2008, are productive oftheory. They are practically thatis to say consciously the self-un-

derstanding of this cycle of strug-gles in its current phase they area theoretical and chronologicallandmark. With all its limits, thismovement is the rst proletarian

reaction (albeit non-global) to thecrisis of restructured capital. Interms of its production of theory, this movement can be considered, more or less arbitrarily, according

    to six essential characteristics:

    57 Endnotes

    11. Productive labour is only an abbreviated expression for thewhole relation, and the manner in which labour capacity and labourgure in the capitalist production process. (Marx, Results of the Im-mediate Production Process , Productive and unproductive labour)

    12. The ilots, who belonged to ancient populations under the sway ofSparta, were State slaves, attached to the land and obliged to payground-rent, granted by the city to specic citizens. They did nothave any political rights, but they were numerous and the Spartansfeared their revolts.
