Apprenticeship/OJT Payment Rates• Veterans in an approved program can use their GI

Bill benefit and receive a tax-free stipend. • GI Bill payment rates are set by USDVA and vary

depending upon which GI Bill benefit is used.• Post-9/11 GI Bill: based on % of applicable Monthly

Housing Allowance (MHA), determined by employer’s zip code. Decreases as veteran progresses in training and earns higher wages.

• All Other GI Bills: based on % of the full-time institutional rate of benefit program utilized.
