BIDDINGThe auction will commence at 9.00am on Monday 13 July and be live up until 5.00pm on Friday 7 August. During the auction, bids can be placed any time, day or night. All bids must be placed through the Donate platform – no telephone or email bids, unless indicated in the auction catalogue, will be accepted.
The Donate platform is very simple to use. You can view current bids, browse other auctions and bid for items without registering with Donate. To place a bid, simply go to the page of the lot item you want to bid on and enter the following:
• Your bid amount
• Your mobile number or email address
• Check the tick box agreeing to the terms and conditions of using Donate.
BEING OUTBIDOn bidding for something, if at any point you are outbid by someone else, you will receive either an email/text message letting you know, at which point you can choose to bid higher or recede.
SUCCESSFUL BIDDERSAt the end of the auction, winning bidders will receive automatic notifications either by email or mobile depending on the contact details they entered, with a link to the Donate payment page. Payments must be made through this link, for that specific item only.

2. The Furniture Makers’ Company has the right to refuse any bid. If the winning bid is invalid or is not paid, the next highest bid shall be the winning bid.

Descriptions have not been verified by The Furniture Makers’ Company and should not be relied upon as statements of definitive fact. Neither The Furniture Makers’ Company nor the relevant donor can be held responsible for errors of description or for genuineness or authenticity of any lot, or for any fault or defect in it. Neither the organisers nor the donor give any warranty whatsoever in respect of any lot where quarry numbers are mentioned. The figures are indicative only and all lots are sold subject to no return. 4. If the donor of a lot does not make available to the winning bidder the relevant lot substantially as described, and alternative arrangements are not made, The Furniture Makers’ Company shall
refund the purchase price to the winning bidder, but shall have no liability to him or her for any consequential costs, loss or damages, whether associated with the cancellation of travel plans or otherwise.
5. Where appropriate the onus is on the buyer to contact the donor or his representative and arrange mutually convenient dates and times for their experience etc. The Furniture Makers’ Company will forward contact details to the buyer within two weeks of the sale. The Furniture Makers’ Company can accept no further responsibility for the arrangements.
6. In the event of cancellation of a sporting lot for whatever reason, bad weather, outbreak of disease, terrorism etc. any alternative date will be a matter of negotiation between the donor and bidder. The Furniture Makers’ Company can accept no further responsibility for the arrangements.
7. These conditions of sale are subject to English law and each bidder submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts.

The Birds and Bees Ernest Race Table and ChairsThis Birds and Bees Ernest Race Table and Chairs is a collaboration with Ocee Design and Jay Blades. The Gazelle table has been transformed by Jay using Timorous Beasties Birds and Bees linen fabric on the top then introduced a solo orange button on the tabletop. It features Jay’s signature solo leg painted in fluorescent orange. To complete the look Jay has dipped one foot of each of the Roebuck chairs in orange and the seats pads have been upholstered in mint sage wool and feature a solo orange button. It’s a simply stunning set and unique.

One case of six bottles House of Lords ChampagneThis Champagne has been selected by the House of Lords for its elegance and good balance. Robust notes of roasted apple, toasted almonds and honey are woven with high tones of lemon, pear and white flowers. 2005 was an outstanding vintage in Champagne and this wonderfully complete example illustrates that beautifully, balancing the rich with the delicate in perfect harmony.
