It is recognised that as people live longer, services and the way we work together has to change if we are to continue to meet the needs and aspirations of our communities. In Fife Health and Social Care Partnership there is a recognition that having staff with the right Knowledge and Skills within the community is required to support patients to live long and healthy lives in their own home or in a homely environment.

We are therefore looking to enhance our Community Nursing Teams with the appointment of an Advanced Nurse Practitioner. This role will support the existing team of two Advanced Nurse Practitioners who support General Practice and the Community Nursing Teams deliver safe, effective and person centred care to patients within the primary care setting. This role supports the ongoing development of the service which supports the timely review, treatment planning and care coordination for patients within the nursing and residential care home settings.

You will be required to be educated to degree or Specialist Practitioner Qualification and be committed to be working towards your Masters in Advanced Practice. You must already have completed your clinical assessment and non-medical prescribing qualifications to apply for this role and be committed to completing the MSc in Advanced Practice. You will be supported to do so through a period of induction and training over an 18 month period of which at the conclusion you will have attained the National competency level of an Advanced Nurse Practitioner and concluded your master’s study. You will require excellent communication skills and be able to work as a member of the wider Health and Social Care Team with the ability to work autonomously utilising your own initiative, clinical judgement and decision making.

Trainees are paid a percentage of the pay band maximum for the qualified rate which is dependant on the duration of the training period (see terms and conditions in job pack).

We are currently seeking to recruit a nurse with respiratory experience to join our highly motivated team of respiratory nurse specialists on a fixed term basis. The post will be for 18 hours per week over 2/3 days till 31st March 2019 and will increase to 24 hours per week over 3 days from 1 April 2019 until approximately 30 th September 2019 when the substantive post holder is due to return to work.The specialist team assess respiratory patients both in hospital and at home and facilitate early supported discharge as well managing a number of nurse led clinics. They also manage patients at home with long term oxygen requirements. The service is currently undergoing some further development and redesign which includes expanding the role to incorporate NIV management, IPC and Empyema drain management and assisting with thoracoscopy.

You will have experience of managing patients with respiratory disease which would ideally include recent acute experience and will be keen to develop. A clinical decision making and independent non medical prescribing qualification would enable you to work at practitioner level, however these are not essential for this fixed term post and without these skills you can work as a Respiratory Specialist Nurse.

This fixed term post will provide an excellent opportunity for professional development for someone who wishes to specialise in this field.

Cardiac Rehabilitation (CR) has been in Fife for over 25 years. The model has evolved over the years from being focused on physical rehabilitation into a comprehensive, individualised lifestyle programme. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a CR Specialist Nurse to join the Fife Community Cardiac Specialist Nurse Service. This role is to support the delivery of the Fife Cardiac Rehabilitation agenda across Fife. The role comprises of undertaking individual clinical risk assessments of people with heart disease (HD) conditions including heart failure, the identification of the most appropriate programmes of CR for individuals and supporting the delivery of rehabilitation. This is done through working in partnership across primary and secondary care, including agencies and organisations outside the NHS to support people with HD conditions in their individual rehabilitation and health behaviour change.

It involves comprehensive assessment and planning for patients who are in the Victoria Hospital and complex planning for their discharge. You will need to bring a wide range of experience from across Health and/or social care with a background in Nursing or AHP. This is a fast paced and exciting post working in a diverse and often changing environment. You will need to have both an organised and flexible approach to work in this post. A good team player who is confident in their role. You will have a relevant qualification and experience in a relevant area. You will possess excellent communication and organisational skills; demonstrate evidence of effective multi-agency working; and be able to work on your own initiative, plan and manage own workload but also function well within our team. Advanced knowledge and skills in the use of Microsoft Office and associated databases (e.g Excel) are also required for this post.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a forward thinking Registered Nurse who is keen to enhance and develop their senior management skills and leadership qualities to support the Senior Charge Nurse within ward 12.

Ward 12 is a busy ward with a high turnover of patients which requires you to have enhanced organisational, communication and interpersonal skills. You will be expected to support the Senior Charge Nurse to deliver safe and effective care that enhances the patient experience and contributes to the delivery of the organisation's objectives. You need to be clinically experienced but also have the knowledge and ability to support the Senior Charge Nurse in the management of the ward including staff management. You should have a commitment to acute medicine of the elderly, patient centred care and supporting effective team working. You must demonstrate understanding of the complexities of Daily Dynamic Discharge and the needs of frail older people in the population being able to support a multi-disciplinary approach to discharge planning to ensure safe and effective discharge for our patients, as well as preventing re-admission.

You will be required to take charge of the ward in the absence of the Senior Charge Nurse carrying out clinical, leadership and management duties. You will be joining a well motivated multi-disciplinary team who strive to deliver the highest level of care possible. You must have a real interest in Medicine of the Elderly nursing. You must have relevant post registration experience within an acute clinical setting. This post is part time 34.5 hours per week and is predominately worked over 5 weekdays with occasional weekend working to cover the Duty Charge Nurse Rota.

What is the programme?

Being a health visitor offers an excellent opportunity to make a valuable contribution to supporting the health and wellbeing of children and young people.  NHS Fife are offering sponsored places on the Postgraduate Diploma Person Centred Practice (Health Visiting) commencing January 2019.  Successful completion of this programme will enable you to register on the specialist part of the NMC register which is essential to being a health visitor.

Applications are invited from nurses/midwives who wish to be considered to undertake this programme on a full-time basis only.   To be considered, you must meet the QMU academic requirements well as the professional entry requirements for the programme. A post has arisen for a Staff Nurse in Theatre Recovery Area (Fife Wide).

This post involves the immediate pre and post operative/anaesthetic care of both adults and children in a busy theatre environment. You will have experience in caring for surgical and acutely ill patients and be able to deal with clinical emergencies The post will allow you to develop many extended roles and intensive nursing skills.You will receive an intensive 6 month orientation programme and will be allocated a mentor to teach all the many skills required of this very interesting and varied job.

Recovery involves care of the unconscious patient with airway adjuncts, pain management, invasive monitoring and management of post theatre complications in a one to one nurse/patient environment.

You will have the opportunity to develop your organisation, communication and management skills.

The Recovery Area has an active staff development programme and gives you the opportunity to work closely with both anaesthetists and surgeons.

Hours will be worked to meet the needs of the service which may include day, night and weekend shifts, if this is required.

The Practice is based within Kirkcaldy Health Centre and conveniently situated next to Victoria Hospital and Whyteman’s Brae Hospital. Our current list size is approximately 7300. The Practice is paper-light and uses Vision and Docman.

The Practice has 4 GP Partners, 1 salaried GP, 1 Associate Nurse Partner, 1 Specialist Practice Nurse, 1 Practice Nurse and a hard-working team of 12 admin staff. We pride ourselves on providing excellent patient care at all times and work hard to offer a wide range of services to suit the needs of our patients.

Due to retiral of our Senior Partner, we are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated GP to join our team. There is the option for this post to be salaried or the option for partnership. Sessions are negotiable but we would ideally like the successful applicant to cover 8 sessions per week. We would hope to support any existing interests that successful applicants may have.

BAND 7 AHP OPERATIONAL LEAD – NHS 24

NHS 24 is looking for a temporary, part-time Band 7 Operational AHP lead to support the national Musculoskeletal Advice & Triage service (MATs). This role would be a joint role, via secondment, with a host territorial board. This role would initially be up to end March 2019. The role will be based in NHS 24, Caledonia House, Cardonald, Glasgow.

The role will be line managed by Head of Clinical Services with external support also be provided by the National Lead, MSK Programme.

The role will run up to end March 2019.

Outline role profile:

Experience of operational leadership at a senior level

Be the AHP lead for the MATs service – providing professional link into AHP networks

Attend MSK Expert Panel meetings representing NHS 24, along with Service Manager

Attend MSK Partner meetings, along with Service Manager and Team Manager

Undertake investigations and respond to clinical complaints/comments and feedback

Provide professional leadership to the frontline Physiotherapists within NHS 24, undertaking appropriate quality assurance reviews and providing professional clinical leadership in conjunction with their clinical line manager.

Be key part of ongoing service improvement activity, specifically focussing on the role of the Physiotherapist within the MATs service and links with partner services

Managing, initiating and developing significant project(s) in line with project briefs, Committee Report or submission to an external body such as the Scottish Executive which may include capital investment, commissioning and leading on changes affecting staff. In partnership with others including people with dementia and their carers, implementing dementia friendly communities across Fife and capturing outcomes to improve the lives of people with dementia and their carers.

Educated to SCQF level 9 which includes a Degree level or equivalent in a relevant discipline.

Ability to think strategically with experience of translating strategy into deliverable plans.
