the first time she saw him

The first time she saw him, he looked like he had a lot of problems with the world with the frown glued to his face; his eyes scrunched in a bizarre manner as he walked down the hallways. If the etiquette her sister had taught him had taken a moment to resurface, she would have realized that a proper human being would asked if he was alright, but, the decorum and politeness were gone for now; their absence was replaced with amazement and humor. So, she opted for standing in a looming shadow to watch him pass by; her dark brown eyes scrutinizing his every move. When he later yawned like the sleepy head she took him for she had to fight the urge to laugh and pat him in the back. With the impulse squelched, she viewed the scene with curiosity: some tall guy swung his hands on his shoulders; his face showed a pang of surprise as he elbowed the guy. They shared a small laugh and, with the chivalry that the hidden girls sister wished she had, the tall guy took him away ruining her perfect view of him. The girls blood boiled at the show the other boy made of showing their friendship, but, it wasnt her style to make a big deal out of something trivial with an unplanned outburst. So, instead, she turned on her heel, and walked rather quickly towards the covered courts; her mind set on making new friends and an awesome school year, or, until her mind felt more at ease as she processed the fact that her heartbeat became faster as she saw him smile. One of the most memorable moments she had of him was during the PISTAYM getaway. She had been pacing around her best friends quarters, her brain jumbled from the troubling thoughts that continuou sly plagued her. She glared at an innocent white t-shirt while her left hand gripped the black pentel pen absentmindedly as it itched to draw a new design. When she paused, she could have sworn she heard his voice resonating from outside, but, she dismissed the idea her mind was too far gone for stringing together cohe rent thoughts. So, minutes later, she was surprised to find out that, indeed, it was him walking down the hallway, with his deep, luscious voice echoing as he came nearer and nearer. From her perch on the elevated platform, she could make out a familiar head of black hair and a strong, tall figure with a bag swung on the bodys right shoulder. He was laughing with another guy, who was a bit shorter than him and presumably a close friend of his, while walking towards their quarters which was also her best friends in short, the room she was currently in. The desires rose, once again at an inappropriate time, and, befor e she knew what was happening, her eyes met his chocolate brown ones. Her gripped on the pentel pen tightened as she struggled to control her rapidly beating heart, unfortunat ely, it deemed futile. She felt her throat go dry as he his lips turned slightly upward as he saw her looking at him. She gulped a quick intake of oxygen as he parted his lips in an attempt to say something. He then said those two words that engraved itself into her heart for the very first time, her name. During his event, she grew impatient when she was forced to wait for two games before seeing his which was something she looked forward to. After uncovering from others that he was good at that sport, the girl knew that she had to see it for herself. Sitting on the front row, she witnessed the amount of passion and soul he placed with each and every hi t was enough for her heart rate to quicken and gosebumps to form. It was odd, and maybe over dramatic, but, her sometimes felt giddy at the prospect of seeing him play. Those emotions only exploded tenfold with each and every game he won and even lost. It wasnt long before she had his entire self memorized; from his messy-looking ebony l ocks, to his expressive yet sleepy eyes, to the slump way he held himself during the morning and, how that posture differed from his everyday walk to his stance when he gets serious. The manner in which he spoke to strangers and the way he conversed with those he knew well. The smiles he gave his friends and the subtle tug of the lips he greeted her with. The early set-on boredom he sensed in him when they walk accidentally on the same hallway to go to class and, how that awkwardness and boredom ebbed away

So, instead, she turned on herheel, and walked rather quickly towards the covered courts; her mind set on making new friends and anawesome school year, or, until her mind felt more at ease as she processed the fact that her heartbeatbecame faster as she saw him smile.

One of the most memorable moments she had of him was during the PISTAYM getaway. She had been

pacing around her best friend s quarters, her brain jumbled from the troubling thoughts thatcontinuously plagued her. She glared at an innocent white t-shirt while her left hand gripped the blackpentel pen absentmindedly as it itched to draw a new design. When she paused, she could have swornshe heard his voice resonating from outside, but, she dismissed the idea her mind was too far gone forstringing together coherent thoughts. So, minutes later, she was surprised to find out that, indeed, itwas him walking down the hallway, with his deep, luscious voice echoing as he came nearer and nearer. From her perch on the elevated platform, she could make out a familiar head of black hair and a strong, tall figure with a bag swung on the body s right shoulder. He was laughing with another guy, who was abit shorter than him and presumably a close friend of his, while walking towards their quarters whichwas also her best friend s in short, the room she was currently in. The desires rose, once again at aninappropriate time, and, before she knew what was happening, her eyes met his chocolate brown ones.

Her gripped on the pentel pen tightened as she struggled to control her rapidly beating heart, unfortunately, it deemed futile. She felt her throat go dry as he his lips turned slightly upward as he sawher looking at him. She gulped a quick intake of oxygen as he parted his lips in an attempt to saysomething. He then said those two words that engraved itself into her heart for the very first time, hername.

During his event, she grew impatient when she was forced to wait for two games before seeing his which was something she looked forward to. After uncovering from others that he was good at thatsport, the girl knew that she had to see it for herself. Sitting on the front row, she witnessed the amountof passion and soul he placed with each and every hit was enough for her heart rate to quicken andgosebumps to form. the longer she was there. She was a woman of many words, but, there were feelings that were oftenunexplainable and indescribable that she and the dizzy, unexplainable reactions she got whenever he saround cannot cooperate soundly.

The more time she spent with him, the more she grew attracted. She d often catch herself daydreamingabout him, blushing whenever he s around or simply stuttering when she tries to say his name. Theyspend time together whenever they can, getting to know one another more, and, soon, they realizedthat they were similar, yet different, in their hopes and dreams and goals. While he wanted to satisfyhimself and not only his parent, she wanted to satisfy herself rather than reaching for her dreams. Whenhe stated that he wanted to travel, she exclaimed with excitement that she too wished to explore theworld. They bonded over their love for anime and books in general; their friendship grew with eachpassing day. He let her borrow his anime CDs and she let him borrow her mangas that he got hooked inonce she told him about it. He bought them tickets to a movie which she thanked him for with a warmhug she blushed days later when she remembered her silly, bold act. They argued with each other, once in a while, about who is more awesome. Though she felt that admitting the idea would be jinxingher, she liked to think that he was becoming more comfortable with her and, in time, she would be ableto confide her deepest feelings in him. Unfortunately, time was not on their side, and before they knew

it, it was already time for him to go to college.

The cerulean-haired man performed for thousands upon thousands of adoring fans and diplomats, yet,he could never regain the sensations that were provoked whenever he was close to her. He practiced forhours a day; his heart never being able to duplicate the fullness and satisfaction that came with herpresence. His mother told often that, if he worked hard enough, he could find true happiness in hismusic that was a lie. His dreams were filled with her sound and her soft voice and, on occasion, hersmile. He would be there, on the expansive stage, his violin hanging gently by his side, and he wouldturn and see her standing a mere twenty feet away, a content and pleased grin on her delicate face. Hecalled her frequently for the first month or so and oddity for him but, the calls from her slowlybecame few and far between. Though he'd told her that she could call him whenever she felt the need,

when autumn faded away, winter passed, and spring finally set in, his phones no longer rang.

The girl was heartbroken. The people around her comforted her and cared for until she could stand onher own two feet. As time passed by, she would give them bright fake smiles.
