for the first three lessons (@ $50/per hour) to support & promote furthering music education, simultaneously supporting the economy of local musicians. instructors.
Stuff for Students supports schools through
instrument and equipment donations. School music teachers assess the classroom needs not met with school budget and a yearly request is made for desired equipment and instruments..
Tickets for Teachers JAS donates
hundreds of tickets for festivals and other JAS performances to teachers and students within the Roaring Fork Valley.
The JAS Local Education
Initiative complements existing public
school music programs and replaces programs where schools suffer losses due to budget cuts. Programs of the Local Education Initiative are invaluable to students & teachers in the Roaring Fork Valley (and I-70 corridor), allowing students ages 7-18 to pursue jazz & general music at a much higher level and commitment than would be offered to them by the schools
The JAS Summer Camp is designed for middle and high school students of the Roaring Fork Valley and beyond. The Camp provides direct music instruction from professional musicians, including private lessons and group workshops as well as live performance elements. JAS Summer Camps are led by JAS In-Schools Program Director, Chris Bank, as well as JAS In-Schools Instructors, Chris Harrison, Mark Johnson and Rob Merritt.
