Why Should I Be On Facebook?
• Over 500,000,000 Users Worldwide,130,000,000 in the US
• Facebook has replaced Google.com as the most visited site on the web
• Average time per visit is 7 mins vs 2 mins for Google
• About 50% of social media driven traffic to websites is through Facebook
Why Do I Need a Facebook Page?
• Page entries are indexed by major search engines
• The more you engage your customers using social media, the more likely they are to become repeat customers and refer you to friends
• Better than friending your customers

It’s important to note that in many cases users/ customers will come to your page once, check it out, “Like” it and never return to the page.
For this reason, your top priority should be ensuring the quality of your wall posts.
Great Wall Post Tips• Update relevant information often, make it
personal …and ask questions!
• Post links and articles of interest from other sources …and ask questions!
• Post special offers …and ask questions!
• Setup and invite people to Events …and ask questions!
• Comment on comments …and ask questions!
• Use visual media when possible (fun pictures, videos), and don’t forget to tag users/customers in the picture …and ask questions!
• Setup a poll so you can ask questions!
Why is this important?
The Facebook Wall Algorithm
• AKA “Top News”
• Filters OUT content from a users wall by default
• Prevents “unwanted” content from getting through, think “Joe just gave you a bail of hay”
• Responds positively to content that other users have exhibited interest in
