Purpose of Advisory:
Provide a safe, small community for each middle school student.
Ensure that each student has an adult mentor and advocate.
Foster every student’s social, emotional, and intellectual growth.
Create a caring and supportive environment in which students can succeed.
Role of Advisors:
Regularly connect with each student on an individual basis.
Provide academic guidance and support. Provide emotional support. Advocate for every student. Foster a home-school connection. Engage students in activities that foster social,
emotional and intellectual development and growth.
Daily Structure
Sixth Grade advisory will meet every day for 25 minutes.
Sixth Grade advisory will be scheduled immediately after lunch at 11:35 AM.
Each advisory group will meet in the advisor’s classroom.
The sixth grade advisors will meet to discuss and plan advisory every second Wednesday of the month before school.

Create a safe and supportive advisory community. Familiarize students with middle school. Help students become involved in the school
community. Help students establish effective school and social
habits.
