Higgins (1988)Higgins (1988)
According to Higgins, a computer was understood as a teacher-player, controlling
and guiding students through different tasks. The machine was not a mediational means between teacher and student, but an actor
to exchange information. (Leffa, 2009)

Bax (2003)

considers the idea of behaviorism and also extends boundaries including more and new activities
considering for example the role of the teacher. This idea explains the principle of integration in terms of socio-cultural aspects, emphasizing not in the ability
to integrate “tools” but to be integrated.

Considering that computers facilitate connection between individuals and communities, the trend, in terms of research and teaching, is to move
beyond individual and the community to focus on the individual into society and society into the individual, (Leffa, 2009)
