European characters

1.

The flag of Europe. It is the symbol not only of the European Union, but also a symbol of unity of the countries of Europe and its individual basis in a broad sense. A circle of gold stars represents solidarity and harmony between the peoples of Europe. The number of stars is in no way linked with a number of EU member States. The flag depicts the twelve stars, because the number «twelve» is traditionally considered to be a symbol of perfection, completeness and unity. For this reason, the flag remains unchanged regardless of the enlargement of the EU.
