The Concept Behind The Logo

The bright orange ray is from the NICP logo which is an upward shape of a fiber optic which projects the platform capabilities of the confederation in displaying the cities dependable facilities, voice/non voice solutions, safety/security advantage, fast digital data transmission, and unlimited space for growth and development in communication technology. The “sun” is from the DILG seal which shows Filipinos holding hands around the yellow circle.

The Concept Behind The Logo

The logo combines the goal of DILG to empower local government units and strengthen local autonomy with the goal of NICP to achieve balanced development between high-growth and developing cities and provinces in the country, to share information and best practices, and to transform the Philippines into a customer-oriented and competitive provider for global services. The logo represents the shared vision of NICP and DILG to develop ideal ecosystems for ICT development in the local government units.

The Project Managers

Vision: The DILG is the primary catalyst for excellence in local governance that nurtures self-reliant, progressive, orderly, safe and globally competitive communities sustained by God-centered and empowered citizenry. Mission: The DILG shall promote peace and order, ensure public safety, strengthen capability of local government units through active people participation and a professionalized corps of civil servants.

The Project Managers Goals: • Peaceful, safe, self-reliant and development-dominated

communities; • Improve performance of local governments in governance,

administration, social and economic development and environmental management;

• Sustain peace and order condition and ensure public safety.

Objectives: • Reduce crime incidents and improve crime solution efficiency; • Improve jail management and penology services • Improve fire protection services; • Continue professionalization of PNP, BFP and BJMP personnel

and services • Enhance LGU capacities to improve their performance and

enable them to effectively and efficiently deliver services to their constituents

• Continue to initiate policy reforms in support of local autonomy

The Project Managers Vision – Mission: The NICP is the recognized, premier, and unifying advocate for national ICT industry development especially in the countryside. Our aim is to: • Promote foreign and local

investments and balanced development.

• Share information and best practices.

• Transform the Philippines into a customer-oriented and competitive provider for global services.

The Project Managers NICP Objectives • To generate new ICT business • To increase awareness of the

ICT industry • To ensure sustainability and

resource generation • To be an effective

implementing partner of the Philippine Digital Strategy (PDS)

• To have more venues for information sharing

• To increase collaboration and private- public partnership

The Objectives of the Awards 1. To encourage the effective and

efficient utilization of information and communications technology (ICT) in the delivery of services and performance of the duties and responsibilities by local government units (LGUs)

2. To commend, collate and document best practices of LGUs in integrating ICT in their processes to serve as example and benchmarks to other LGU’s

3. To improve the business ecosystem of the LGUs and motivate the private and business sector to actively participate and/or invest in the growth of the LGU’s

Tasks of the Project Implementers • Prepare the mechanics and criteria of

the awards subject to approval of DILG • Generate incentives and prizes for the

winners • Search and qualify sponsor companies as

part of their CSR project • Organize venue/s for public

commendation of the awards • Organize pre/post awarding for a to

highlight and provide venue for sharing of best practices

Tasks of

NICP:

Tasks of the Project Implementers • Endorse, promote and disseminate

information about the event to all LGU’s • Provide parameters and guidelines for the

selection based on what practice needs to be encouraged

• Provide advise and assistance to NICP regarding the implementation of its various tasks

• Take charge of the attendance of dignitaries and awardees in the ceremonies in relation to this awards

• Acknowledge support of donors and partnership of NICP

• Monitor the impact of the awarding program to other LGU’s

Tasks of

DILG:

The Incentives for the Awardees • All entries shall be subjected to

elimination rounds for eligibility and basic requirements

• Accepted entries shall advanced to the semi-final round and compete for Island judging

• Top 3 Finalists from each category will be selected from the semi-finalists

• Top 3 Best Practices will receive a trophies, plaques, cash prizes and ICT projects with value during an awarding ceremony

• Top 10 Finalists entry projects will be documented and collated in to an ICT Best Practices Book for LGU’s

• Awarding for 2013 be done in the 6th National ICT Summit

Sponsorship of the awards incentives is open to all companies duly-established and/or operating in the Philippines, whether local or foreign which share and uphold the vision-mission on DILG and NICP
