What is a Community of Practice (CoP)?

• A group of people who share a concern or passion for something they do and learn how to do it better as they interact regularly (Wenger-Trayner, 2011)

• Members are brought together by a shared need

• Interactions produce resources that improve their work

• Opt-in groups within CQUIN, focused on key issues identified by CQUIN members

• Work together to create and co-create resources and toolswhere gaps and needs have been identified

• Generally time-limited

Current Participants

• QI for DSD workshops in Malawi (September 2018), Zambia (April 2019) and Eswatini (May 2019)

• Participants from Eswatini, Malawi, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe• More than ten QI-DSD projects developed• Regular calls to present progress and get feedback

• Exchange of QI tools• Zambia adapted a DSD QA tool from Eswatini

• Co-creation of DSD quality standards finalized in July 2019The CQUIN Learning Network 9

• Standing calls to discuss QI projects • Mostly focused on DSD coverage and quality

• Convened a 11-country meeting on DSD quality and QI in June 2019
