TestimonialsFrom Academy StudentsParker B. The Health Science tech program gave me insight into the medical fieldwhich no other experience could have provided. Through observations of numerousprofessions, guidance to my career path was offered. During one rotation, I observedan orthopedic surgeon perform a total knee replacement, an experience which sparkedwithin me a new interest in the medical field. I would recommend the course toanyone who is unsure about the profession they wish to pursue, and to those alreadyconfident of their future in the medical field.
Abbey A. The ASHP’s Health Science program has been very beneficial to me inmy path to becoming a medical student. It teaches the basic medical skills, medicalterminology, the body systems and functions, even medical math. The clinical
rotations at the hospital gave me handson experience and a glimpse into theeveryday life of a doctor. I believe that
this program is the most practicalchoice to get the knowledge andskills I need to begin my journeythrough college and medical school.
Lacey L. The HST programoffered by the Academy allowed me
to get hands on experience in themedical field. Through theopportunity presented with theAcademy, I was able to realize mystrengths, likes and dislikes, and I amknow applying what I have learnedseeking a college, and career plan.
Robert T. For someone who plans ongoing into the medical field, HST is acourse that will prepare you and giveyou hands-on training. Throughoutmy two years in HST, I have been ableto observe many different kinds ofdoctors from vets to dentists. Theclinical rotations helped me fully
understand what most doctors must do on a dailybasis and also what it takes to become a doctor.
Michelle H. The HST course proved to be avaluable health sciences career explorationopportunity for me. By this exposure, I not onlydeveloped an idea of health and wellness from theperspective of a patient, I also gained insight fromthe view of the employee in the healthcare industry.
