Sir Conran was educated at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design where he studied textiles and other materials. Sir Conran was awarded a knighthood in the 1983 Queen's New Year Honours. In 1987, he opened his first restaurant ‘Bibendum’ in the art nouveau Michelin Building. He has created over 30 restaurants, cafes and hotels across four countries.
