Our company
To shape our products innovatively as well as corre-spondent to the latest standards and customer pref-erences, we are cooperating with several research institutes. These include e.g. the Technical Univer-sity of Braunschweig with the Institute of Transport, Railway Construction and Operation, led by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Thomas Siefer.
Another collaboration exists between RMCon Inter-national and the Consulting Company for Traffic and Railway Engineering Ltd. (IVE mbh), also located in Hanover.
Our business is divided into three areas:
□ Consulting and planning service □ Software development and service □ Research and innovation
The team at Rail Management Consultants Inter-national GmbH (RMCon International) consists of experts in the field of traffic engineering as well as software developers.
We work hand in hand on products for your tech-nical and operational planning. Enhancing these products and adapting them to the current market is the passion that unites us at RMCon International.
Since the foundation in 1999, RMCon has been located in Hanover. As we act worldwide, the sub-sidiary company RMCon Australia was founded in Sydney in 2001. This enables us to offer excellent services to our clients all over the world.
To emphasize the international aspect of the offered services, the RMCon International Gmbh is found-ed in 2018 as a successor company to the RMCon GmbH.
It is said that the way is the goal.It is our goal to find the best way for you!

Consulting
Infrastructure planningWe offer our support for your strategic infrastructure and capacity planning. This includes data collection and consistency checks as well as the calculation of the investment costs for planned changes on the tracks of your network. Thus, you learn about the consequences of your changes and therefore figure out, whether they will be worthwhile.
By improving the efficiency of the measures on the infrastructure, you receive a fundamental basis for the subsequent timetable construction or the profita-ble sale of train paths.
If you entrust us with the infrastructure data manage-ment, we will take care of your data administration and keep your infrastructure data up to date. Apart from the status quo, we manage your various plan-ning states. All data is stored for later usage: in case you do not realise changes to the infrastructure right away, we can determine the effectivity at a later time on the same basis.
Furthermore, we assess and evaluate:
□ Infrastructure of lines and junctions within a network
□ Safety system equipment (interlocking and signalling)
□ Construction states
Timetable construction and service planningAs we have a lot of experience in railway transport, we can advise with competence on the timetable construction. At the same time, we create several variants to support your decision-making for the most suitable timetable. We determine the required rolling stock, journey times, running times and take the requested train connections as well as trans-fer times for your passengers into account. While developing your reliable timetable, we ensure path availability and feasibility.
3
Capacity planningKnowing the necessary capacity is the foundation for a successful planning. We identify the required amount of tracks for an effective operation.
By calculating the used capacity, we keep an over-view of the amount of paths that are occupied, still available or possibly not profitable for you.
The remaining capacity is an additional key perfor-mance indicator of your network. In the cost-benefit analysis we can determine the amount of paths that you should withhold for a building activity, without including too many unused tracks.
Operational planningAmong the strategic service planning, our business activities include the timetable production – from a first design and testing to the application of train paths – and the analysis of existing timetables.
In order for your trains to arrive on time during times of change, we create working timetables and make propositions for temporarily required infrastructure measures during construction phases and for rail replacement services if required. We test the quality
and robustness of your operational planning and support you in achieving your goals and quality management regarding the punctuality and achieve-ment of connections.
The success of your railway undertaking does not only depend on a smooth train operation and great performance, but also on cost observation and optimisation. Therefore, an overall calculation of the operational costs is included in our range of services. By analysing different planning variants, we offer our assistance in your decision-making process.

Software developmentAt RMCon International, we combine our knowledge of software development with our experiences in consulting and the planning of railway traffic. The result is the IT platform RailSys®, an innovative IT solution for railway transport that is deployed world-wide.
RailSys® works cross-process and includes:
□ Network wide infrastructure management □ Timetable construction and path management □ Construction site planning and related train regulations (construction management)
□ Timetable and operational simulation to verify infrastructure, timetable and operation
The software offers interfacing concepts that con-nect with your systems and enable the integration of RailSys® into existing IT environments.
Development on demand and application developmentEvery RailSys® user works with our program on different tasks and has therefore individual require-ments and expectations of the software. Our team of consultants is happy to assist you in finding the most suitable additional functions for you. Based on a detailed specification that is verified by you, our IT experts implement functions in accordance to your
needs and timelines. Each function is tested in our standardised factory acceptance test process to en-sure compliance with your requirements and specifi-cations, before being released and finally delivered to you. Our software is customisable and configur-able according to your individual processes.
System supportOur support includes software maintenance. In ad-dition, we inform our clients regularly about updates and news concerning RailSys®, so that you can benefit from all new features.
ServiceIn order for your employees to be able to under-stand the functions of RailSys® and tap its full potential, we offer customised user trainings. Dur-ing these sessions, we explain all of the functions that are important for the participants. For your convenience, we offer on-site training as well as online workshops via web conference. As a matter of course, we are available for any questions that might occur during your application of RailSys®.
RailSys® is successfully used all over the world by railway infrastructure companies, train operating companies, consulting offices, industrial enterprises and construction companies, public service clients, ministries of transport and research institutes.

Researchand innovation
ResearchOur passion for railway transport does not only show in our customer service. It motivates us to work closely with our cooperating partners on new devel-opments in science and technology.
This includes developments in the fields of routing and route search systems, automatic train path search, client-server technology and the creation of web applications.
Due to our cooperation with universities, you ben-efit from fresh ideas that improve your workflow. At the same time, we support the new generation of our industry and encourage young professionals to deepen their curiosity for the railway transport.
InnovationWe are constantly working on the improvement of our software RailSys®. It is our concern to bring infrastructure data modelling, timetable construction as well as timetable and operational simulation to perfection. Therefore, we develop mathematical and heuristic algorithms and enhance the efficient devel-opment of performance indicators to assess infra-structure requirements, timetables and operation.
