(Jesus said, “Now is the Son of Man glorified, and God is glorified in him. If God is glorified in him, God will also glorify him in himself, and God will glorify him at once. My children, I will be with you only a little while longer. I give you a new commandment: love one an-other. As I have loved you, so you also should love one another. This is how all will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”)

Jesus Himself who said "I Myself am the Bread of life." Divine love is the food He serves us. The grace-filled love, peace and joy He offers us when we come before Him in the Blessed Sacrament was prepared for us on Calvary. Holy Thursday goes together with Good Friday, as the Eucharist is the gift of our Lord’s Passion. Like wheat crushed before coming bread, Jesus was crushed on the cross to become our spiritual nourishment, suffer-ing torment to give us comfort, rejection to fill us with love, dying in darkness to bring us the light of hope, opened by a lance to pour out His peace. An overflowing cup signifies that our Lord gives us incomparably more than we ask for, even though we may not always feel it. Whatever sacrifice we have made to come to make our holy hour, cannot in any way compare to what we receive now and in eternity. "Goodness and kindness" describe the very name and personality of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament, Who dwells with us "all the days of our life." For this reason, our desire is to remain with Him "in the Lord’s own house." - "Come to Me in the Blessed Sacrament"

WHO IS JESUS? GOSPEL REFLECTIONS ON

THE MEANING OF JESUS FOR US TODAY

SCRIPTURE STUDY FOR WINTER/SPRING,

2016

We call Jesus the Christ, “the Anointed One,” but who really was he and why has he had such an impact on the world? His vision for the world as it should be and his knowledge of and relationship to God, his “Father,” are as compelling today as they were some 2000 years ago. Our scripture study gives an overview of what is known about Jesus from the Scrip-tures, the historical record of his time, in order to gain a more complete picture of Jesus and his message. Each week we focus on a specific image/title for Jesus through a key Gospel passage that will offer us another piece of the puzzle of who Jesus is and the meaning he has in our own lives and also in our world today, so that we can more strongly affirm that Jesus is “the Way, the Truth, and the Life.” Our Scripture Study continues on Monday evenings, from 7:00 – 8:30 pm in the St. Augustine room of our JPII Center and for those who prefer a study during the day, Thursday mornings, from 9:00 – 10:30 am in our parish Library. There is a minimal fee for our textbook. Please bring your Bible.

RCIA - RITE Of CHRISTIAN INITIATION OF ADULTS

Is God calling you to become Catholic? It begins with an awareness...or stirring in one’s heart for something more. It could be a curiosity or a sense of long for fulfillment. Maybe it’s God calling you to explore the life of faith, love, and justice within the community of the Catholic Church. The RCIA process offers an opportunity for you to learn and ask ques-tions about the Catholic faith. It is primarily for the un-baptized, but also includes a special tract for those baptized in another faith tradi-tion. We also invite inquiring Catholics to also come and join us for refreshers on what they learned as children. We meet all year round.

Please come and join us Tuesday evenings from 7:30PM to

9:30PM in the Parish Library. For more information on the process, please

call Danny or Vicki Centurioni at 909-987-7971

RCIA - Teaching Moments: What is a “Cathedral” ? A Cathedral is the official Church of the Bishop of a Diocese. The Greek word “Cathedra” means chair or throne or seat; The Bishop’s “Chair” symbolizes his teach-ing and governing authority, and is located in the principal church or “Cathedral” of the local Diocese of which he is the Chief Pastor. In the Diocese of San Bernardino, the official Church of our Bishop, Most Rever-end Gerald Barnes, is Our Lady of the Rosary Cathedral, located in San Bernar-dino. The Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angles is the official “Chair” of Archbishop Jose H. Gomez in the Diocese of Los An-gles. Our Holy Father, Pope Francis is the Bishop of Rome, his official “Chair” or “Cathedral” is St. John Lateran’s Basilica in Rome, Italy. It is the official ecclesias-tical “Seat” for the Universal Church.

Military Photo Update If you have a family member actively serving our country and would like their picture included in the Military Frame of our Soldiers honoring our Men and Women for their service; please bring a photo of your Soldier to the Parish Office and fill out the Military Person-nel Information Form. The Military information consists of their rank, stationed location, branch of service, address of soldier, along with Parish family con-tact. These photos provide the community with recognition of those parishioners and family members serving in the military. Many of our parishioners will keep the names and faces in their hearts and prayers, along with all of our Military Men and Women serving our country. Catholic Faith-Based Grief Support Group Christ reminds us in the Sermon on the Mount:

“Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted” (Matthew 5:4)

Losing a loved one is perhaps the most painful and overwhelming of life's experi-ences. It challenges you physically and emotionally and raises questions about the future -- about where God is in the midst of your pain. Our Heavenly Father wants us to find consolation in His loving arms. You don’t have to walk this journey alone, there is hope. With the encouragement of our Grief Support Group, you will begin to form an understanding and healing of many emotions. Join us as we search for God’s Healing Love and Comfort, as you share with others, who have experienced loss and loneliness.

We meet each Wednesday, 7-9 pm (JPII, 2nd Fl) Contact: Andrea Woore, Grief Facilitator at 909-261-3487 or

Debby Leonardo, Pastoral Care at 909-987-9312 Ext 302 for more information

Please join us!! Are you interested in sharing your

God-given talent with others? We meet

every Mon. 10am - Noon (JPII, 2nd Fl) This ministry creates shawls and lap blankets for those suffering from illness and would appreciate any donations of skeins of yarn and/or medium size gift bags for presenting the shawls and lap blankets to the recipi-ents. There are blessings of fellowship, sharing creative ideas, prayerful encouragement, and refreshments. If you would like to contact the Prayer Shawl Ministry, please call Anne Napolitano at 909-935-9080. Please bring your donations to Debby Leonardo, Pastoral Care, in the Parish Office.

Thank you and May God Bless you for your support….

LECTIO - EUCHARIST Jesus said “This is my Body” and “This is my Blood.” Some say they’re merely symbols of remembrance. Others say they’re really the Body and Blood of Christ, but can’t explain how that’s possible. The Eucharist is the center-point of the Mass – but why? The answers are here. Renowned teacher Dr. Brant Pitre guides us through Scripture, history, and Church teaching to illuminate the won-der and miracle of the Eucharist. With deep insight, Dr. Pitre gives a fresh perspective for understanding the mystery that is the Eucharist. The episodes were filmed at the studios of the Augustine Institute in Denver, Colorado. Materials fee per participant/couple sharing is $25, payable at the first class attended, and includes a thorough study guide. For questions or to register, contact Jenny Campbell at 909-987-9312.

The same session is offered at 2 different times each Wednesday: Wednesday mornings 9:00 – 10:30 AM (upstairs JPII) Wednesday evenings 7:00 – 8:30 PM (upstairs JPII)
