We ask our readers to identify their fa-vorite and best business in their commu-nity.

They vote by either a paper ballot bymail or by using the electronic poll postedon the website starlocalnews.com.

The voting is intense. The competition is stiff. Thousands of

votes are cast. Once all of the ballots for each commu-

nity are received and the voting closed,our staff tabulates the votes for each cat-egory. The entire process from creating

the ballot, building the online poll, to de-claring the winner can take up to 10weeks to complete.

Finally, after an additional verificationof the results by another team of people,the winners are declared and notified.The result – a list of our readers’ “Best” inthe community.
