Let’s Get a Bus
We are approximately $10,000 away from getting a new bus. We have an exciting opportunity for funds raised towards the new bus to be matched 100%. This means we are only $5,000 short of our goal. Can you help? Our new bus will have automatic doors, reclining seats, ample room for luggage, up to date technology and much more. These features will make the bus enjoyable not only for our children and youth but also the adults of our church. Our new bus will come with warranties that will ensure safety and reliability for years to come. If interested in contributing toward the bus fund please contact the church office or bring your gift as a special offering Sunday marked “bus fund”.

July Means Summer Schedule!
All Sundays in July will be single service Sundays. Many of our folks travel during summer and between July 4 holiday weekend and other events, our church is best served
by consolidating into one combined worship.
We did this last year and it was very successful. Spread the word to church family and friends about the
schedule change for July.
Schedule for July
10am Sunday School 11am Combined Worship
Two worship service format will resume August 10th.

What a crazy summer I have had! It has been nonstop since the first of June - CYF Camp, VBS, Chi Rho Camp, Mission Trip, and 8ers’s, and now I am back in the office to catch up before I go off to my next camp, Christian Youth Leadership Seminar,
July 21-26th. CYLS will be at beautiful Ceta Glen Camp outside of Amarillo, the theme for this seminar is “Adopt the Mindset”, based on Phillippians 2:2-5. This is a leadership camp for students across the Southwest Region that have been selected by their area to serve for the 2014-2015 camping program! Sarah Jones has not only been selected to serve as a leader, she’s also been asked to represent the Central Area as president for the Youth Ministry Counsel. Please be in prayer as we spend a week with approximately 85 leaders across the region, planning, dreaming, and learning. Here are some pictures from all the summer mission trip activities that our youth have participated in. Don’t just enjoy the pictures, stop and ask the youth about their experiences at mission trip. Spend some time learning a little bit about what God has done in their lives throughout the week in OKC.

Ponderings… Rev. Paula Brooks Associate Minister
This past week 10 children
representing FCC and myself attended the
Central Area JYF Camp at Lake
Brownwood Christian Retreat. This
particular camp was for those who had
completed grade 3, 4, or 5.
The theme each day reflected a
different side of Jesus – Friend, Teacher, Healer and Savior. Through Bible
Study, games, activities and music our daily theme was reinforced.
One day each camper was given an 8 ½ by 11 inch canvas with lines
and shapes penciled on the surface. They were shown where to and where not
to paint and told they could use any color(s) they wanted to. Their canvas,
after painting, didn’t have any particular shape or form and didn’t make a
picture. They were told that on Thursday evening when all pieces were put
together that it would make a picture and that they had to wait for the picture
to be revealed. For a child to have to wait isn’t an easy task. The typical
questions that children ask, “Why? What? When? How?” began to fill the air.
As we gathered for a special dinner on Thursday evening the
anticipation of seeing what they had painted began to build. Finally the time
had arrived! The children all gathered down at the front of the room. All the
pieces of canvas that they had worked on earlier in the week had been pieced
together. As the painting was placed before them the room became silent.
The looks on their faces as they saw their masterpiece joined with others was
priceless. Soon “oohs, ahs, and wows”, began to fill the room. Together they
had painted a picture of the one who had come to show them how to love, to
serve as their teacher, to heal their hurts and to be their Savior.
A picture of their painting is below. It began as a painting of
individuals that turned into a painting created by the Body of Christ. It is a
masterpiece!

Special Notes: Prayer list names are renewed every three weeks as we seek to keep the list as current as possible and
allow space for new requests. Our joys, concerns
and deepest needs are already on God’s heart long before
we put them to paper.
