Engaging the Word of God GREAT LENTEN OPPORTUNITY!

Sr. Margaret Kerry from Pauline Books & Media

will present 3 scripture study classes. This is not

Biblical apologetics. It will provide an opportuni-

ty for each person to read and pray with the

bible, to deepen their Worship and relationship

with God and equip each person to be an evan-

gelizer of the Good News of Jesus Christ.

Classes are held Sundays at 10:05 am in the Par-

ish Hall on the following dates:

All parishioners are welcome! These classes are

required attendance for the 1st/2nd Grade Par-

ents Class.

Sr. Margaret has been a daughter of St. Paul for

40 years. Originally form New Orleans, Sr. Mar-

garet received her Masters in Pastoral Theology

from Boston College School of Theology and

Ministry.

parishioner Michael Mule, who both died last week. May

God grant them eternal rest and may the Lord's consola-

Join CCS for an Oyster Roast 3 March at the

Oyster Bar at 77 State Street. This fundraiser will

benefit the 8th Grade Class trip. Adults only-

$30/ticket. 2018-19 Enrollment: CCS is currently

taking applications. Parishioners, now is the

time to enroll your children for Fall 2018. CCS

has scholarships and tuition assistance available.

Cathedral of St. John the Baptist Second Sunday of Lent

Catholic KidzCamp is scheduled this summer

for 18-22 June. The theme this year will be

“Saints & Virtues”. Karen McLaurin is look-

ing for a core team of at least 4 volunteers to

commit themselves to organizing this wonder-

ful religious camp alternative for our parish

children. She will purchase supplies, organize

meetings and help facilitate but a dedicated

core team is necessary in order for the camp to

the Baptist. Docents are available for a tour of our Ca-

thedral following the Vigil, 9:00 and 11:15 AM Masses.

If you are interested in a tour, please wait next to the

Pulpit after Mass.

Sacrament of Marriage

Either the bride or the groom must be a practicing

Catholic and registered at the Cathedral for at least

twelve months before scheduling a wedding date and

beginning the six month marriage preparation. The

bride/groom must be an active parishioner, regularly

attending Mass on Sundays and Holy Days of Obliga-

tion, and use of the envelope system in support of the

parish. The Wedding Policy Booklet may be found on

the Cathedral Website.

Active Membership

Various facilities and services are available to our ac-

tive members. This includes use of the church for Bap-

tisms, Weddings and other Sacramental events, God-

parent/Sponsor letters, and includes parishioner sta-

tus in parochial schools.

Active Membership is determined by four things:

Being properly registered in the parish for a suffi-

cient period of time.

Faithful attendance at Mass on Sundays and Holy

Days.

Use of the envelope system in support of the par-

ish.

Being active in at least one parish program, minis-

try or organization.
