ny! Blessed chalk will be available after Masses

on Epiphany for you to take home. The Rite of

Blessing will be in the 5-6 January bulletin.

A special thanks to the Cathedral Men's Club

for the great effort installing the hymnal racks.

They are much appreciated!

Please note: The Marian Catechist class for test

#3 will be Thursday, 3 January at 7pm in the

lower church.

January will offer a new book study led by

Msgr. Brovey discussing Rod Dreher’s: The Ben-

edict Option: A Strategy For Christians In A Post-

Christian Nation. Please a purchase a copy and

plan to attend the Thursday evening book

study beginning in January 2019. The books are

available through Pauline Books & Media on

243 King Street.

Interior Life Classes held Mondays at 6:30pm

will begin a new book The Practice of the Presence

of God by Brother Lawrence starting 7 January.

Cathedral’s Advent Pageant was wonderful!

Thanks to the many children who participated

and their parents for supporting the perfor-

mance, sharing food, and helping with the

play. Many more special thanks go to: The Joe

& Julia Gaglione duet and Maggie Colie for the

beautiful musical talent; Kristen Alexander and

Kathryn Cockrill for wonderful costuming;

Amanda Colie, who masterfully directed the

entire play; Rick McConnell for donating and

setting up the Nativity set; Trich Schellman for

beautiful decorations; David McLaurin and

Bruce & Teresa Jackson for setting up & clean-

ing up until it was spit-spot! Merry Christmas!

Classes will resume on 6 January.

Adult Education Opportunities

Come experience the quiet calm of being in Je-

sus’ presence at Adoration Wednesdays follow-

ing the 12:05 pm Mass until 8:00 pm.

Confession is offered on Wednesdays

at 12:45pm and 7pm in the upper Cathedral.

The Parish Office will also be closed at noon, Mon-

day 31 December through Tuesday, 1 January in

observance of New Year’s Day and will reopen on

Wednesday, 2 January 2019.

9:00 and 11:15 AM Masses resuming 3 February. If you

Sacrament of Marriage

Either the bride or the groom must be a practicing

Catholic and registered at the Cathedral for at least

twelve months before scheduling a wedding date and

beginning the six month marriage preparation. The

bride/groom must be an active parishioner, regularly

attending Mass on Sundays and Holy Days of Obliga-

tion, and use of the envelope system in support of the

parish. The Wedding Policy Booklet may be found on

the Cathedral Website.

Active Membership

Various facilities and services are available to our ac-

tive members. This includes use of the church for Bap-

tisms, Weddings and other Sacramental events, God-

parent/Sponsor letters, and includes parishioner status

in parochial schools.

Active Membership is determined by four things:

Being properly registered in the parish for a suffi-

cient period of time.

Faithful attendance at Mass on Sundays and Holy

Days.

Use of the envelope system in support of the par-

ish.

Being active in at least one parish program, minis-

try or organization.
