THECASTLESQUEST2020REGULATION1-PRESENTATIONArticle 1.1 - The Castles Quest is an active exploratory event of endurance and individual resistance coveringapproximately 600 km – a non-competitive bicycle challenge in the spirit of “Bikepacking”, whose goal is tocompletewithinthetimelimitthewholecoursedefinedbytheorganization,completingthroughoutthetracktheconquestofthe12HistoricalVillages,namely:AlmeidaandCasteloMendo(MunicipalityofAlmeida),Belmonte(MunicipalityofBelmonte),LinharesdaBeira(MunicipalityofCeloricodaBeira),Piódão(MunicipalityofArganil),Idanha-a-Velha and Monsanto (Municipality of Idanha-a-Nova), Sortelha (Municipality of Sabugal), Marialva(MunicipalityofMêda),CasteloNovo(MunicipalityofFundão),CasteloRodrigo(MunicipalityofFigueiradeCasteloRodrigo)andTrancoso(MunicipalityofTrancoso).Participationinthiseventisdoneintotalautonomy;theparticipantsarefullyresponsibleforallthemanagementandallthetransportofequipmentandnecessaryproductsfortheirparticipation.Theterm“race”,whenusedinthisregulation,doesnotfallwithintherealityofacompetition,itisonlyassociatedtothechallengeandovercomingofeachparticipanttocompletethischallenge.Article1.2-The4theditionofTheCastlesQuesttakesplacefrom26thSeptemberto4thOctober.ThecourseisbasedontheGrandRouteoftheHistoricalVillages(GR22),divertingitstrackexceptionallyatsomepoints.TheHistoricalVillageofCasteloNovoisthedepartureandarrivalpointofthecourse,whichisapproximately560kmlong,tracksthataremostlydirttracks,butithassomesectionswithlargedirtpathsandtarredroads.Allpathwaysareopento traffic,without exception,meaningparticipantswill have to comply strictlywith the traffic rules in force inPortugal.Article1.3 - TheCastlesQuest is anOrganizationof theHistoricalVillagesofPortugal - TouristicDevelopmentAssociation(HVP-TDA),holderofTaxNo.NIF507709705,withofficesatRuaPedroÁlvaresCabral,No.52,6250-086,Belmonte,inpartnershipwithClubeDesportivoeRecreativoChronos[ChronosSportsandRecreationalClub],holderofTaxNo.514798998, withheadquartersatAv.Eng.ºDuartePacheco,No.19,6ºD,1070-100Lisbon,entitiesthatasawholearehereinafterreferredtoasOrganization.2-PARTICIPATIONMinimumAge

Article2.1–Participation inTheCastlesQuest isopen toall cyclists, cycleathletesandcycle tourists,whetherfederatedornot,bornbefore26thSeptember2002.PhysicalFitnessArticle 2.2 - Enrolment in The Castles Quest implies the perfect understanding by the participant that theirparticipationinthischallengedemandsahighphysicalandpsychologicalpreparation,compatiblewiththefitnesstocovera560kmcoursesafelyandwithfullself-sufficiency,onatrackthatishighlydemandingtechnicallyandhasanaltimetryabove11,000m,inharshscenariosandroughclimateconditions.Itismandatory(uponenrolmentorafterwardsuptothedeadlineof12thSeptember2020)foreveryparticipanttosendtotheorganizationamedicalcertificatestatingtheirphysicalfitnesstoparticipateintheEvent.TheBicycleArticle2.3-Onlytwo-wheeledvehicles(bicycle)areallowedfortheEvent.Article2.4–Thoughitisnotmandatorybutgiventhecharacteristicsofthetrack,themostrecommendedtypeofbicycleistheOff-roadSportBicycle(BMX).ParticipationinanelectricBMXisallowed.Participantswhochoosetoparticipatewithane-bikewillbepartoftheFINISHERlistinaseparatecategory(E-Bike).Article2.5-Eachparticipantmustensurethattheirbicycleandalltheequipmentisingoodconditionandreadyfortheharshnessofthecourse.Thispointisallthemoreimportantsinceparticipationiscarriedoutinfullself-sufficiency.Article2.6-TheOrganizationmayrefuseparticipationintheEventofaparticipantwhohasabicyclethatisnotadequate for the type of course, that is not adequately prepared or that has safety issues for the participantthemselvesorfortheothers.MandatoryEquipmentArticle2.7–Duringtheentirecoursetheparticipantmustcarrywiththemthefollowingequipment:

• Bicyclehelmet,dulyhomologated–mandatoryusewheneverthecyclistisonthebicycle.• Bicyclerepairtoolkit(setofhexagonalkeys,dismountinggear,patchesandchainuntangler).• Sparetyretube.• Bicyclepump.• Firstaidkit.

• GPSdevice,capableoffollowingandrecordingcoursefiles.• Windbreakerjacket/raincoat.• Thermalblanket.• Whistle.• Vesseltostoreandrestockliquids(drum/camelback)withaminimum1Lcapacity.• Headandtaillight–dulycharged.• Fronttag(bicycleplate)withparticipant’snumber–Includedintheparticipant’skit.• Tracker(geolocationdevice)withrespectivecharger–Includedintheparticipant’skit.• SurvivalMap–Includedintheparticipant’skit.• Mobilephone(switchedon)andrespectivecharger.

Article2.8-Thepossessionanduseofmandatoryequipmentisvalidatedbytheorganizationuponaccreditationattheevent(secretariat–collectingofparticipant’skit).Itcanbevalidatedatothertimesandplacesoftheevent(startingpoint,checkpointsandotheroccasions).Article2.9–Non-complianceofArticle2.7,duetothelackofoneormoreitemsofequipmentonthelist,mayimplypenaltiesbeingapplied,whichmayrangefromtimeaddedintheparticipant’stotaltimetotheparticipant’sexclusion.Article2.10-ThefronttagofthebicycleisthepropertyoftheOrganization;theparticipantisgivenpermissiontouseitduringtheracedaysincasetheycomplywithalltherulesandconductdefinedbytheregulationorbydecisiontakenbytheorganizationatanygivenmoment.Attheendoftheevent,thefronttagofthebicycleisofferedtotheparticipantbytheorganization.Article 2.11 - The front tag of thebicycle andother identification elements are personal andnon-transferableequipmentandtheirusebyanotherpersonisforbidden.Article2.12–Allparticipantsmustplacethefronttagofthebicycleinthecorrectposition,atthefront,intheareaofthehandlebarssothatitswholesurfaceisclearlyvisible.AllparticipantswhodonotcomplywiththisrulewillbeexcludedfromtheEvent,hencenotbeinginlinewiththeirOrganization.Itisstrictlyforbiddentochangethedimensionsandgraphiccontentofthefronttagofthebicycle,aswellasaddinganytypeofmessageorimage,beitofcommercialnatureornot.Article2.13–BearinginmindthetypeofcourseofTheCastlesQuest,theequipmentusedtotransportthebaggageonthebicycle(usuallyusedinthe“bikepackingdynamics”)mustbesturdyandpositionedinsuchawayastoallowtheparticipanttoeasilypassthroughthemoretechnicalsectionsofthecourse.

3-SAFETYPersonalAccidentInsuranceArticle3.1–Theparticipantiscoveredbyapersonalaccidentinsurance,includedintheenrolmentfeeandwhosecoveragescomplywiththelawinforceinPortugalforthesetypesofevents:

-DeathandTotalandPermanentdisabilityintheeventofaccident-€28,043.00-Medicalandrepatriationcostsintheeventofaccident-€5,000.00-Funeralcosts(expenses)-€2,700.00

Allparticipantswhosowishmaycomplementthispersonalaccidentinsurancewithotherinsuranceswithothercoverages(e.g.repatriationcosts).ResponsibilityArticle3.2–TheOrganizationisnotresponsibleforanyaccidentthattheparticipantmaycauseorsuffer,whichmustbecoveredbytheinsurancemadeavailablefortheEvent,norforanyexpensesincurredbyanyparticipantduringtheEvent.Article3.3-TheparticipantsareresponsiblefortheirenrolmentandparticipationintheEvent,andawareofallthe risks associated to a bicycle event carried out on paths open to traffic and in a regime of full autonomy.Validationofenrolmentimpliesthemandatoryreadingandsubscriptionofaconsentforminwhichtheparticipantacknowledgestheyareawareof theassociatedrisks,exoneratingtheorganizationofanyresponsibility foranypersonalormaterialdamage,associatedtoanaccidentoranyothercause.4–DYNAMICSOFTHEEVENTPathsopentoTrafficArticle4.1-TheCastlesQuesttakesplaceonpathsopentotrafficwherebytheparticipantshavetonotonlystrictlyobey the Portuguese traffic rules, but also to adopt particularly careful behaviour and riding, with particularattentiontorespectingcirculationinthetrafficlaneandchanginglanesandapproachingcrossroads.TheCourse

Article4.2–ThegoalofeachparticipantistocompleteTheCastlesQuestcoursewithinthetimelimit,bypassing,in full compliance, throughthewhole trackdefinedby theorganization.Throughout thecourse therewillbe3mandatory check pointswhere each participantwill have to obtain their proof of passage. Reaching this goalsuccessfully,respectingtheraceregulationatalltimes,issufficientconditionfortheparticipanttoobtaintheirtitleofFINISHERoftheCASTLESQUEST2020.Article 4.3–AlthoughTheCastlesQuest course coincides in almost all its extentwith theGrandRouteof theHistorical Villages (GR22) and it being a signalled route, the possible absence of signs in some places or thedivergenceofthecourseinrelationtotheGR22trackinsomesectorsofthetrackmaketheuseofaGPSdevicemandatory, this being the guidance method in The Castles Quest and what therefore guarantees that eachparticipantfollowsthecoursedefinedinfull.Article4.4–Includedintheirenrolment,eachparticipantwillreceiveviaemailfromtheorganization,aGPXfile(GPS track with the GPX extension) which will include, besides the course track, a series of marked points(Waypoints),whose location isoftheparticipant’s interestwithinthedynamicsoftherace.Therefore,theGPSdeviceusedbyeachparticipantwillservenotonlyfortheirorientationthroughoutthecoursebutalsotoidentifyinthefieldthespecialinterestpointsfortheevent.Article4.5–EachparticipantwillberesponsiblefortheintroductionandmanagementofthedatasuppliedbytheorganizationontheirGPSdevice.EachparticipantisequallyresponsibleforchoosingtheGPSmodelthatismoreadequate for their participation and must ensure that its energy source (batteries or rechargeable battery)guaranteesthedevice’sautonomyduringtheperiodsforeseenforitsuse.Article 4.6 – In case the GPS breaks down or is lost, the participantmay complete the rest of the course byaccompanyinganotherparticipant,shouldthissituationbeofcommonagreementtobothparticipants.Self-sufficiencyArticle4.7–ThecourseofTheCastlesQuestcoversanextensionof560km;nodivisionintostagesbeingneitherdefinednorsuggestedbythe.Themanagementoftheirparticipation,namelychoosingtheplacesandperiodsofrest,aswellastheplacesandmeanstoreplenish(solidsandliquids)ortocarryoutanytypeofmaintenanceonthebicycleandequipmentiseachparticipant’sfullresponsibility.Article4.8–BesidestheGPXfiletobeintroducedintheirGPSdevice,eachparticipantwillalsoreceivea“SurvivalMap”.ThismapwillhavethenecessaryinformationsothateachparticipantcanmanagetheirparticipationinThe

CastlesQuest in thebestway.Besides thesetwomeans (mapandGPXfile), theparticipantwillalsoreceive inadvancea“RaceFolder”(digitalformat)outliningthemostimportantinformationontheevent.Article4.9-EnrolmentinTheCastlesQuestimpliesfullknowledgeoftheconceptofself-sufficiencyassociatedtotheevent.Theorganization,eventhoughitpermanentlymonitorstheeventandwithitsownteam,particularlytheprogressandlocationofallparticipants,itwillnotatanymomentgiveanysupportinthefield;eachparticipantis fully responsible for theirpriorknowledgeof theexistingresourcesthroughoutthecourseandformanagingthem in response to their needs. This situation is valid in thenormal situationsof the resources associated toreplenishments,maintenanceandaccommodation,aswellasinemergencysituationsandincaseofwithdrawal.Article 4.10 – The only moments the participants will have contact with the organization in the field are: atDeparture,attheCheckPointsandatArrival.AttheCheckPoints,besidesputtingtheproofofpassageontheirsurvivalmap,theorganizationwillendeavourtomonitorthephysicalandmentalstateoftheparticipant,aswellasthestateoftheirbicycleandtheirequipment,withspecialattentiontocheckingthattheyhavethemandatoryequipment.Article4.11–Noexternalaidprogrammedorcontractedbytheparticipantorthirdpartiesisallowedtobeputintopracticethroughoutthecourse.However,eachparticipantmayobtainsupportfromalltheresourcesthatexistintheterritory,whicharepubliclyaccessible(commercialornot)andwhoseactionislocalizedandmomentary.Mutualaidamongparticipantsisallowed.GeolocationArticle4.12–Allparticipantsshallcarryageolocationdevice(Tracker)withthem,suppliedbytheOrganization(seeArticle4.15),whoseuseismandatorythroughoutthewholeevent.Togetherwiththedevice,eachparticipantwillbegivenachargerinordertorechargetheTracker’sbattery.Managingthebatteryandthefunctioningofthisdevicethroughoutthewholeeventistheexclusiveresponsibilityoftheparticipant,sinceitistheirobligationtoensurethatthetrackerhasenoughbatteryandisalwaysonwhiletheyareonthecourse.Lossofsignalforaperiodoveronehourmayleadtheorganizationtotriggermeansofrescue:theexpensesassociatedwithsuchproceedingsaretheparticipant’sresponsibilityaslaidoutinArticle4.15ofthepresentregulation.Article 4.13 – The use of the geolocation device (Tracker) is indispensable for the organization to be able topermanentlymonitor themovement and location of the participants throughout the course, to assess if eachparticipantfullycomplieswiththeirtrack.

Article4.14-Theuseofthegeolocationdevice(Tracker)alsoallowsthepositionandmovementoftheparticipantalongtheeventtobepermanentlymonitoredontheofficialsiteofTheCastlesQuest,makingitpossibleforanypersoninanypartoftheworldtofollowthem.Article4.15–Thegeolocationdevice(Tracker)willbehandedouttoeveryparticipant,duringdayzerooftheEvent(“day 0”), upon collecting their kit at the secretariat of the event. When this equipment is handed out, it iscompulsoryfortheparticipanttoleaveasecuritydeposittotheamountof€100.00,whichwillberefundedinfulltotheparticipantwhentheyhandintheequipmentingoodconditionaftertheeventhasfinished.TimeLimitsandWithdrawalsArticle4.16–Thetimelimittocompletethecourseis7daysand6hours(atotalof174hours),inwhichthearrivalclosesat14h00on4thOctober2020(Sunday).Article4.17–Therearealsotimelimitstopassthecheckpoints.Thesetimeswillbeannouncedbytheorganizationclosertotheeventdate.Nevertheless,thecalculationstoestablishthesetimelimitswillbedonebasedontheaveragecalculatedtocompletethewholecoursewithinthetimelimit,alsotakingintoconsiderationtheprofileofthecourse.Article4.18–Theparticipantswhodonotmeetthepassageandarrivaltimelimitswillbeexcludedfromtherace;theywillappearonthefinallistasDNF(DidNotFinish).Aftertheirexclusionisconfirmed,theseparticipantswillhavetoabidebytheruleslaidoutincaseofwithdrawalfromtherace.Article4.19–Incaseofwithdrawal,theparticipantisobligedtocommunicatethistotheorganization.Iftheparticipantdoesnotcommunicatetheirwithdrawaltotheorganization,itmaytriggerasearchandrescueprocedure,theexpensesassociatedwithsuchproceedingsaretheparticipant’sfullresponsibility.Article4.20– Incaseofwithdrawal, theparticipant isobliged to return to theorganizationall thegeolocationequipment (tracker+charger) ingoodcondition,at “basecamp”,by thepointofarrival (CasteloNovo)before14h00 on 4th October. Failure to return this equipment by that date implies forfeiting the security depositmentionedinArticle4.15.Article4.21–Incaseofwithdrawal,theparticipantisobligedtoretrievethematerialthattheymayhaveleftforsafekeepingat “BaseCamp”,at thepointofarrival (CasteloNovo)before15h00on4thOctober.Collecting thematerialsandequipmentbelongingtotheparticipantsleftat“BaseCamp”after15h00on4thOctoberwillhavetobedoneatadifferentlocation,implyingpossibleextraexpensestobesupportedbytheparticipant.

FinishersArticle4.22–AllparticipantswhocoverthewholecoursedefinedbytheorganizationwillbeawardedthetitleofFINISHERprovidedtheydosowithinthetimelimitandinfullcompliancewiththeregulationoftheevent.DamesandKnightsArticle4.23-AllparticipantswillbeawardedthetitleofDAMEorKNIGHTwhobytheendoftheeventconquerthe12Armsinreferencetothe12HistoricalVillagesofPortugal.ConqueringtheseArmsisachievedbytheproofofpassagein12pointsdefinedalongthecourse.Eachparticipantisgivenapersonalareaintheofficialsiteoftheevent.Theparticipant’sArmswillbeputinthatareaastheyconquerthem.5–ENROLMENTSArticle 5.1. – It is mandatory to enrol in the Event. Enrolments are made on the Event website athttps://www.thecastlesquest.bike/,onaformmadeavailableforthatpurpose.Enrolmentisonlyconsideredvalidafteritispaid,withintheestablisheddeadlineandthroughthemeansofpaymentdisclosedontheofficialsiteofthe Event. Enrolments are open up to 24h00 on 12th September 2020. Payments made after the establisheddeadlinewillbereturnedwithinaperiodof90days,viabanktransfer,afterreceivingaCreditNoteissuedbytheorganizingcompanyanddulysignedbytheathlete.Article5.2-Theparticipantacceptsthatthedatatheyfilledinfortheirenrolmentarecorrectandtrue,andthattheemailaddressprovidedisthepreferredmeansofcommunicationandtobegivenalltheimportantinformationpertainingtotheEvent,andacknowledgestheyareinformedthroughthismeans.Onconfirmationoftheenrolment,themedicalcertificatestatingtheparticipant’sphysicalfitnesswillbeverified.Article5.3–AllcontactswiththeOrganizationpriortotheEventmustbemadebytheparticipantsviaemailtogr22@aldeiashistoricasdeportugal.com.Article5.4–InvoicesconcerningenrolmentintheEventwillbeissuedaccordingtotheinformationcollectedfromtheenrolmentform.Aftertheinvoicesareissued,nochangeswillbemade,includingthetaxnumberindicatedontheform.Article 5.5 –With enrolment, each participant accepts they have read and accepted the terms of the presentregulation,anddeclarestheyareawareofandaccepttherisksinherenttotheparticipationinaracethatisopen

totraffic.Inthisdeclaration,theparticipantexcludesthepossibilityofmakingtheOrganizationaccountableforanyaccidentresultingfromtheirparticipationintheEvent.Nevertheless,allparticipantswillbecoveredbythepersonalaccidentinsuranceoftheEvent.Article5.6–EnrolmentsintheEventarelimitedandhaveadifferentiatedcost,accordingtothefollowingperiods:

particularlytheinformationrelatedtotheconceptofself-sufficiency,foraproperunderstandingofthetypeofeventandtheservicesincludedornot,whentakingthedecisiontoenrolinTheCastlesQuest2020.

ExtraServicesWiththeirenrolment,eachparticipantmayalsosubscribeextraservices,whicharedulydisclosedontheofficialsiteoftheevent.WithdrawalsArticle5.7-Incaseofwithdrawal,partoftheamountoftheparticipant’senrolmentmayberefunded,underthetermslaidouthereunder:

-Upto24h00on14thAugust2020–amountrefunded:50%oftheamountpaidforthecombinedenrolmentandextraservices.

-After24h00on14thJuly2020,norefundapplicable.Article5.8-AnenrolmentalreadypaidforbyawithdrawingparticipantmaybetransmittedtoanothersubstituteparticipantaslongasthatchangeiscommunicatedtotheOrganizationviaemailupto14thAugust2020.Afterthatdate,nosubstitutionispossibleandthereisnorefundofanyamount,aslaidoutinthepreviousarticle.TransferbetweenparticipantsissubjecttoapprovalofthenewparticipantbytheOrganization.

6–COLLECTINGTHEPARTICIPANT’SKITArticle 6.1 – Collecting the documentation, including the front tag of the bicycle, will be carried out at thesecretariatoftheEvent,whichwillbefunctioningon25thSeptemberattheCasteloNovoVillage,withopeninghoursandplacetobeannouncedtotheparticipants.Article6.2–Tocollectthedocumentationatthesecretariat,itiscompulsorytoproduceanidentificationdocumentwithaphotograph (IdentityCardorCitizen’sCard,passport,driver’s licenceorother).Uponaccreditation, it isequally compulsory to produce the equipment defined in Article 2.7 of the present regulation. Collecting thedocumentationmustbedoneinpersonbytheparticipant.7–RULESOFCONDUCTEco-responsibilityArticle7.1–ParticipantsareobligedtohavearesponsibleconductregardingcleanlinessandconservationoftheenvironmentinallareasusedbytheEvent,fromtheStagescourseuptothedepartureandarrivalarea.ItisstrictlyforbiddentothrowlitteronthegroundduringallmomentsoftheirparticipationinTheCastlesQuest.Itisuptotheparticipantstokeepwiththemallthewasteoffoodanddrinkpackagingusedfortheirreplenishmentduringthecourse,subsequentlyplacingthemintherefusecollectionpointsavailableinthevillagesandotherpointsofpassage.DisregardforthisruleimpliestheimmediateexclusionoftheparticipantfromtheEvent.RespectandCivilityArticle7.2–Participantsareobligedtohaveaconductofrespecttowardstheotherparticipants,theelementsoftheorganizationandallthelocalinhabitantsandanyotherpersonwithwhomtheysharethepathsandplacesofpassageduringtheevent.Nobehaviourwillbetoleratedthatresortstofraudulentorillegalmethodstoreachtheunderlying goals of the event, that put sportsmanship in question or the respect for the rules laid out in thisregulationandthebasiccivicprinciples.ViolationofthisarticleimpliestheimmediateexclusionoftheparticipantfromtheEvent.8–IMAGERIGHTSArticle 8.1 – Enrolment in the Event and consequently accepting the present regulation necessarily impliesauthorizationbytheparticipantfortheOrganizationtomakeafullorpartialrecordingoftheirparticipation,andit

canuse these images freely to disclose andpromote the Event on allmedia (television, radio, press, internet,posters, boards and flyers, photos and videos). Upon enrolment, each Participant expressly relinquishes andconsentsallimagerightsforthepurposeofexhibitionandpromotionoftheEvent(andalsoexpresslywaivesanyeconomiccompensationoranyright,namelyindemnity).9–DATAPROTECTIONArticle9.1–TheorganizationofTheCastlesQuestfullyrespectsthedataprotectionlawcurrentlyinforce.TheparticipantsacceptknowingandauthorizetheintroductionandprocessingoftheirpersonaldatainthefilesoftheorganizationoftheEvent,fortheirusefordevelopmentandadministrativemanagement.Athletesmustindicatethenametheywishtoenteronthebib,listsofenrolees,personalprofileandonthelistoffinishers,whichwillbepublishedontheeventsite.However,theprivacypolicyallowsanyparticipanttorequestthealterationorremovaloftheirdata,uponrequestmadeviae-mailtogr22@aldeiashistoricasdeportugal.com.Upon confirming their enrolment, the participant grants permission to be contacted by Historical Villages ofPortugal - Touristic Development Association (HVP-TDA) and by the Chronos Sports and Recreational Club viatelephone,SMSandemailforthefollowingpurposes:

• Informationonpaymentdata.• Informationonparticipantdata.• Informationontheirtrackingandtimerecord• Informationontheevent.

Additionally,iftheparticipantgrantsauthorizationuponEnrolment,theyauthorizetheOrganizationtoprocessthepersonaldatareceivedorgeneratedasaconsequenceofenrolmentintheEvent,forthepurposeofpromotionactionssubsequenttoTheCastlesQuestandfortheapplicableperiodinlegislation.Suchcontactcanbemadeviaanymeans(letter,telephone,email,SMS,MMS,instantmessageapplications,etc.).Theparticipantmay,atanymoment,revokethepresentauthorization.Theparticipantmay,atanymoment,carryouttherightsofaccess,rectification,cancellation/deletion,payment,opposition,limitationandtransferability,acknowledgedintherulesinforce,intermsofpersonaldataprotection,bycontactingtheOrganizationbyregisteredmailwithreturnreceipttotheaddress:RuaPedroÁlvaresCabral,No.52,6250-086,Belmonteorviaemail:gr22@aldeiashistoricasdeportugal.com.Notwithstanding the participant being able to exercise the rights previously mentioned, the Organization willpreserve the personal data of said participant supplied by them and generated as a consequence of the

participationintheevent,whileitlasts,aswellasduringthelimitationperiodofanylegalactionthatanyofthepartiesmaysubmit.Afterthereferredlimit,theOrganizationmaykeeptheprocessedpersonaldatawiththeaimofdisseminatingtheinitiativespromotedbytheHistoricalVillagesofPortugalNetwork.ForabetterunderstandingoftheprotectionmeasuresofthedataimplementedbytheOrganization,participantsshould consult the terms of the Privacy Policy published on the official site of the event atwww.thecastlesquest.bike.10–POSTPONEMENTORCANCELLATIONOFTHEEVENTArticle10.1–ForcemajeurereasonsareunderstoodtobethecircumstancesthatmakeitimpossibletoholdtheEventonthedates,places,coursesandtimesplanned,beyondthecontroloftheOrganization,thatitcouldnotknow or predict and whose effects it would not be reasonably required to surpass or avoid, may force theOrganizationtosuspend,postponeorcancelthe initiative,aswellasmakechangesontheplaces,timesorthecourse.Inanyofthesesituations,thereisnoplacefornon-compliance,noaccountabilitycanbedemandedoftheorganizationandithasnoobligationtocompensateeconomicallyorotherwiseanyathleteoranyotherpersonorentityduetothisfact.Forthepurposesherein laidout,forcemajeurereasonsmaycomprisefor instanceearthquakes,flooding,fires,epidemicsorpandemics,publichealthorenvironmental reasons, sabotages, strikes,embargosor internationalblockades,actsofwarorterrorism,mutiniesandinjunctivegovernmentaloradministrativedecisions,landslidesordestructionofcourses,beitanaturalorhumancause,orothersthatareencompassedintheaforesaidinthisarticle.11-COMPLAINTSArticle11.1–Anycomplaintmustbesubmittedinwritingtotheorganization,duringorattheendoftheevent,uptothedeadlineof30minutesbeforethearrivalisclosed.Article11.2–TheOrganizationwillsetupajurycomprisingthreeelements,whichwilldecideonallmattersrelatedtotheapplicationofthepresentRegulation.12–RIGHTTOREFUSEArticle12.1–TheOrganizationreservestherighttorefusetheenrolmentofaparticipantuptothestartingdateoftheEvent;itisnotobligedtostatethereasonforsuchrefusal.Inthecaseofparticipationbeingrefused,the

participantwillbeinformedviaemailandtheamountalreadypaidwillberefundedinfullviabanktransferwithin10workingdays.13–ACCEPTANCEOFTHEREGULATIONArticle13.1-Byenrolling,allparticipantsacceptthepresentregulationandincaseofqueriesortheemergenceofanysituationnotcontemplatedbyit,theymustimmediatelyinformtheorganizationandpresenttherespectivequeriesinwriting.Article13.2– Incaseofdoubtsintheinterpretationoftheregulation,thePortugueseversionprevailsovertheversionsinotherlanguages.Article13.3–Thisregulationmaybealtered.Anyalteration,addendaorintroductionofpotentialannexestothepresent Regulation will be published on the official site of the event, which will be tacitly accepted if in themaximumperiodofeightdaysasfromthedateofpublication,theydonotopposeanyoftherulesintroduced.Suchoppositionmustbesubmittedinwritingtotheorganizationviaemail:gr22@aldeiashistoricasdeportugal.com.Article 13.4 – The present regulation is in force as from 00h00 on 18/04/2020, thereby revoking all previousprovisionsordeterminations.
