For a day in your courts is better than a thousand elsewhere. I would rather be a doorkeeper in
the house of my God than dwell in the tents of wickedness.
Psalm 84:10 ESV

Vacation Bible School Monday, June 22 - 26, 2015 our Education Ministry hosted vacation bible school. The
theme, was “Journey off The Map”. Carolyn Oglesby served as the vacation bible school
director. Shiloh Baptist Church New Site collaborated with Mt. Zion Baptist Church,
Fredericksburg, Virginia for this year’s vacation bible school. Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Pastor
Carl Butler attended vacation bible school with his members in addition to serving as an
instructor for one of the classes. There was over one hundred students that attended each
night. The youth classes were compiled of their lesson, crafts, music and recreation. All
offerings that were collected during vacation bible school were donated for a mission in
Jamaica in which local children there will have the opportunity to experience their very own
vacation bible school. Supplies were also collected for the children. On Friday, June 26,

We have found that many Branches of Zion, throughout the nation, show significant
reductions in their congregations. We here at Shiloh have also experienced such
reductions. The reasons for these reductions may be attributed to numerous causes. As a
result of the decreases and in an attempt to bring our fellowship closer together, we are
going to pause and consider the possibility of combining our present Sunday services into
one.
In order to see if this action will bring us closer together as a family, we will begin a
three- month trial period of combined services starting the second Sunday in July of
2015. We will combine the 8 A.M. and the 11 A.M. worship services into one service,
which will begin at 10 A.M. Sunday school devotions will start at 8:15 am and Sunday
school classes will begin at 8:30 am.
It is our desire to see how God, through the Holy Spirit, moves and conceivably allows us
to come closer together as a stronger body of Baptist believers in worship. The worship
experience that has been shown in the first Sunday Communion and Baptismal fellowship
reveals that we celebrate spiritually higher when we come together as one body.
We trust that we will all be in prayer to see where the Lord leads us. Let us come together
and worship the Lord in Spirit and truth.
