Compatriots and Guests, Welcome to Sacramento, the State Capitol of California, for the 141 st Annual Meeting of the California Society of the Sons of the American Revolution. We are pleased to have you and your guests with us. We have the great honor of welcoming President General Thomas Lawrence and First Lady Mickey Jo and one of our all-time favorite former Presidents General (especially with the ladies) Joseph Dooley. We have outstanding public service and youth awards luncheons planned, as well as the first of many California Vietnam 50 th Anniversary Commemoration ceremonies honoring Vietnam era veterans and their family members. Friday night, we have a wonderful optional dinner planned at the historic Sutter Club and have also included in your packet a list of options in Old Town Sacramento We have special patriotic music provided by the students of John Adams Academy planned for both the Friday and Saturday dinners. If you are staying at the Embassy Suites, breakfast is included in your stay as well as a Managers reception in the lobby from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. We have negotiated a reduced parking rate of $20 a day which will be added to your room. If here for a short visit we recommend parking across the street at the public garage. Compatriots and Guests,

Welcome to Sacramento, the State Capitol of California, for the 141st Annual Meeting of the California Society of the Sons of the American Revolution. We are pleased to have you and your guests with us.

We have the great honor of welcoming President General Thomas Lawrence and First Lady Mickey Jo and one of our all-time favorite former Presidents General (especially with the ladies) Joseph Dooley.

This fabulous mansion, now owned by California State Parks, is a stunning example of the splendor and elegance of the Victorian era in California. The mansion is completely restored to its Victorian elegance, is a museum, and California’s official state reception center for leaders from around the world. On your tour of this 19,000-square-foot Mansion, which was the Governor’s home from 1862 to 1871, you will see: • 17-foot ceilings • Gilded mirrors and exquisitely detailed carved moldings • Beautifully restored woodwork • Elegant 19th century crystal and bronze light fixtures • Historic paintings • Re-created carpeting and draperies based on photographs from the 1870s to match the original interior design • Original period furnishings that belonged to the Stanfords. • 19th-Century style gardens

Parking: Metered street parking is best, bring quarters for meter. If not available, park at the state garage between 9th & 10th.
