OF THE INFANTS(Matthew 2)

Where did they go? (v 1)

What guided them there? (v 2)

Who were they looking for? (v 2)

Why did they want to find him? (v 2)

Some wise men fromthe east (we don’tknow exactly where)set out on a longjourney.

What happened when they got there?Number the boxes to put the facts in the right order.

King Herod heard about them and ordered them to come to him.

The wise men found Jesus.

An angel told Joseph to take Mary and Jesus to safety in Egypt.

Herod’s wise men studied to see where the Saviour would be born.

There was weeping all around Bethlehem.

An angel warned them to go home without going back to King Herod.

Herod ordered all baby boys less that two years old to be killed.

Herod told the wise men to find the baby and then tell him where he was.

The wise men went home by another way.

They worshipped Jesus and gave him precious gifts.

Unscramble the words to show what Paul was writing to his friends.

Read what Paul explained to his friends and then find the red words in the grid.

Paul wanted his friends to know that even the hard things that had happened to him had helped to spread the good news about the Lord Jesus Christ.

Because he had been in prison the palace guard had heard about Jesus.

Also Paul’s courage in prison had encouraged other Christians to speak about the Lord more openly.

The early church, like the church today, was made up of ordinary people. Euodia and Syntyche were two women in the Philippian church. What did Paul tell them to do? (v 2)

What must they have been doing for him to give them that advice?

REAL ADVICE TO REAL PEOPLE

The Bible does not apply to those who are perfect - they don’t exist! The Bible is God’s Word for ordinary people like us. Put the teaching in these verses into very simple words that you can apply to your own life. For example, you could say ‘Pray rather than worry’ for verse 6.

JUNIOR GRADE: YEAR 4 - LESSON 37THE FIRST AMERICAN MISSIONARIES

After the Lord Jesus rose from the dead, he told his followers to go and spread the good news about him all over the world. In the Book of Acts we read about how the church started and spread. And it has never stopped spreading. People are still hearing about the Lord Jesus for the first time today!

One of the first missionaries to sail from America was Adoniram Judson. Put the columns from the top grid in the correct places on the lower grid to find out more about him.

Congratulations on reaching the end of the Sunday School year. From what you have learned this year try to think of one example to put in each box.

A SIN TO AVOID

A LESSON YOU HAVE LEARNED

AN EXAMPLE TO FOLLOW

A PROMISE GOD HAS MADE TO YOU

This is a good time to ask yourself the most important question of all.

Have you asked the Lord Jesus to forgive your sins and to be your Saviour? You may wish to use the yellow box to write a prayer asking him to do that for you today.
