Who are SendGrid?

“Founded in 2009, after graduating from the TechStars program, SendGrid developed an industry-disrupting, cloud-based email service to solve the challenges of reliably delivering emails on behalf of growing companies. […] Today, SendGrid is responsible for sending billions of emails for some of the best and brightest companies in the world.” — SendGrid.com

Why did SendGrid decide to partner?

Finding better ways of increasing the market share was one of the major challenges of SendGrid. Web Summit was recognised as a great opportunity to gain international exposure and acquire new customers due to it’s ability to bring together a distinct group of tech leaders from around the world. In the words of David Friedman, Director of Corporate Communications at SendGrid, “The make-up of the audience is so diverse. People from all levels and components of their organisations are represented at Web Summit.”

What did SendGrid achieve?

As part of the partnership experience, SendGrid received a customised activation area that attracted several thousand attendees over the three days of Web Summit. SendGrid were able to acquire over 200 qualified leads and make valuable connections with Leo Burnett, Freshdesk and Stripe, among others. David Friedman considers SendGrid’s participation at Web Summit and Enterprise Summit to be a huge success: “If you are looking to generate significant business development opportunities and build your international network, you need to be at Web Summit!”.

Case Study: eToro

Who are eToro?

eToro “is the first global market place for people to trade currencies, commodities, indices and CFD stocks online in a simple, transparent and more enjoyable way.” — eToro.com

Over 4.5 million users in more than 170 countries use eToro to manage their funds.

Why did eToro decide to partner?

The major objective of partnering with Web Summit was to position itself as a global tech leader. Nadav Avidan, Head of Communications at eToro explains: “The public perception on the FX industry is poor, and without proper branding (at the time), many assumed we're part of it — even though we never were. Through connecting with [Web Summit’s] brand, we were able to distinguish ourselves and share our true unique voice with the world”.

What did eToro achieve?

One of the benefits of the partnership with Web Summit for eToro was an opportunity to announce their new product on stage to an audience of several thousand international attendees, technology leaders and media from more than 100 countries: “We were lucky enough to announce our new product on your [Web Summit's] stage. This created huge value for us!” As a result, eToro saw “a shift in media perception of us [eToro] once they [Media] heard we were on stage at Web Summit.”

When questioned whether Web Summit helped eToro to meet their main objective and on the outcome of the decision to partner, Nadav explains: “We are considered as a tech leader and innovator today, so [Web Summit] nailed it. There's nothing to think about; if you see yourself as a leader in tech, and you have a great story to share with the world, this is the place to be!”

Case Study: FullContact

Who are FullContact?

“FullContact manages billions of contact records and helps millions of professionals to be awesome with people through better contact management and customer insights.” — FullContact.com

Why did FullContact decide to partner?

Entering foreign markets is a valuable growth opportunity. Finding a path through new and unfamiliar markets was a significant challenge for FullContact. The global partnership formed with our conferences — Web Summit in Europe, Collision in the US, RISE in Hong-Kong and SURGE in India — provided a great opportunity to access the key decision makers in a variety of companies within a wide range of geographic areas. Partnering across the four conferences and having a physical presence at each of the events promised to be an attractive option for FullContact in helping acquire new international customers.

What did FullContact achieve?

Mary Cannady, Marketing Operations Manager at FullContact believes that “Web Summit events are a backbone for us. They allow us unlimited access to potential customers, from Series A startups to enterprise-level providers. They’ve been real game changers.”

She highlights some of the other results FullContact was able to achieve, “While at Collision, we were assisted in building relationships with Pepsi, Target, MasterCard, and Philip Morris.” Finally, Mary explains why FullContact’s participation at Web Summit was such a success: “We left Web Summit with over 250 leads. To date, these leads are generating a significant percentage of the company’s revenue.”
