The Bible says that we all sin!Romans 3:23 “For all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God.”

You probably would know that even if it wasn’t written in the Bible.

We might not commit the same sins, but we still all struggle with sin.

The Bible says that some love to sin!2 Peter 2:13-15 “They count it a pleasure to revel in the daytime. They are stains and blemishes, reveling in their deceptions, as they carouse with you, having eyes full of adultery that never cease from sin, enticing unstable souls, having a heart trained in greed, accursed children; forsaking the right way, they have gone astray.”

But most of us are not like that.For Christians, sin is not a great pleasure. Sin is a terrible constant burden that gets so heavy at times, and we get so tired of it, and we long to lay it down and be rid of it.

If you love to fill your life with sin, then I doubt this lesson will be of much benefit to you.

But if you really want to become the man/woman that God desires for you to be, then I hope this lesson will be a blessing to you.

3. Decide What You Really Want in Life… and do that NOW! Don’t wait until you’re tempted to decide.

Joshua 24:15 “But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your forefathers served beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord."

3. Decide What You Really Want in Life… and do that NOW! Don’t wait until you’re tempted to decide.

1 Peter 1:13-16 “Therefore, prepare your minds for action; be self-controlled; set your hope fully on the grace to be given you when Jesus Christ is revealed. As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance. But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written: ‘Be holy, because I am holy.’”

4. Make an Honest Commitment to YourselfWe so often talk about making a commitment to God: Psalm 37:5 says, “Commit everything you do to the Lord.” Romans 12:1 “Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's

mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices.”

Whatever he does prospers.”

7. When Tempted, Stop and Think Before You ActStop and remember the decision you made that you really want to live according to God’s way. And remember you made a commitment to yourself that you would say NO when temptation comes along.

You don’t have to have a clever reason to ease yourself out of a bad situation. Don’t stick around and try to act cool.

Figure out ahead of time how you’re going to get away.

9. If You Stumble, Get Back Up and Trust in GodOur God has promised to keep on forgiving us through Christ’s blood.

1 John 1:7-9 “If we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

10. Ask Your Brothers and Sisters for HelpJames 5:16 “Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another so that you may be healed. The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much.”

Hebrews 3:13 “But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called Today, so that none of you may be hardened by sin's deceitfulness.”

Galatians 6:1-2 “Brethren, even if anyone is caught in any trespass, you who are spiritual, restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness; each one looking to yourself, so that you too will not be tempted. Bear one another’s burdens, and thereby fulfill the law of Christ.”
