On the second last day of term one, the Knockout Cricket team was excited about the prospect of our second round match against Artarmon Public School at Forsyth Park in the PSSA Knockout Cricket Competition. Artarmon PS won the toss and decided to bat.
Neutral Bay couldn’t have had a better start. Amazing bowling by our opening bowlers Sara (0/9 off 3 overs) and Seb (3/5 off 4 overs) left Artarmon at 4/14 after six overs. They were well supported by our next bowlers, with Kai, Jack, Xavier, Elliot, Josh and Fraser all taking wickets. Excellent fielding by the entire team further helped, leaving Artarmon all out for 69 runs.
Once again, Chris and Xavier opened the batting for Neutral Bay and got us off to an outstanding start with their second consecutive 50 run stand. Xavier was unlucky to be caught out on 33, with Neutral Bay needing only 8 runs to win. Some big hitting by Kai saw us win the game with 9 wickets in hand and 11 overs to spare.
It was another fantastic team effort by the Neutral Bay team, with every player contributing to the win. Neutral Bay displayed great sportsmanship and did an excellent job of representing our school. A big thank you to all the parents who came along to support the team and help out! The team can’t wait for our next game in the coming weeks.
Mr Will MacInnes - Cricket Coordinator
Students in Year 1 and 2 enjoyed the last days of Term 1 by busily decorating their own Easter bonnets in time for the annual Easter Hat Parade. The parade was lots of fun, and was a great opportunity for the students to show off their creations to all the special guests, including parents, friends, and the Easter Bunny! Here are some pictures of the students at the parade.
Kindergarten had a very exciting end to Term 1.
On Wednesday 5th April all of Kindergarten dressed up for Letter Land Day. After some morning alphabet activities in our own classes we then went to different classrooms to participate in some fun activities. We made an alphabet book, did some ABC dancing and made dazzling dragonflies. In the afternoon we had an A-Z picnic in the playground.
On Friday 7th April we had a special visitor to Kindy Land.
Thanks to MaryAnn Beregi for organising.

Towards the end of term 1, Year 4 was working on descriptive writing with the aim of creating vivid pictures in the minds of their readers. They were revising and practising the use of the five senses in their writing to describe what they could see, hear, smell, touch and taste and also practised incorporating a variety of figurative language techniques such as similes, personification, metaphors, idioms, alliteration, onomatopoeia and hyperbole. In doing so, 4D produced a variety of writing pieces, some of which included a descriptive colour poem, a description of their favourite body part and as a bit of fun, some onomatopoeic artworks!
After a fantastic start to the year, Year 6 finished the term with some bright and colourful Easter art. We also enjoyed a wonderful afternoon down at Forsyth Park to take advantage of the sunny weather, which we had not seen very much of in the previous weeks!
We hope you had a restful break. We are covering some very fascinating topics this term and all Year 6 teachers are looking forward to working with our bright and inquisitive students once again.
