A Peek at the Week This week we will read a selection titled, A Big Bushy Mustache In this story, a young boy named Ricky wants to look more like his father. So, he borrows part of a costume from school and then loses it on his way home. As we read this story, students will describe the characters, including how they feel and respond to challenges, the setting and plot using the illustrations and words in a print or digital text. In math, we will begin Topic 12 - Measuring Length. Students will learn how to estimate and measure length using different customary units. This week students will measure length using inches, feet, and yards. Next week, students will measure length using centimeters and meters. In science, we will continue to discuss matter. Matter is anything that takes up space and has mass. Students have learned that there are three states of matter (solids, liquids, and gases). We will conduct various edible (ones we can eat) science experiments involving matter.
