Anil is responsible for our North American and Europe business operations across Canada, the United States, Germany, Hungary, and the United Kingdom. Also under Anil's area of focus are quality assurance, business excellence, workforce management and account management. Anil brings 23 years of management experience. Prior to joining Aditya Birla Minacs, Anil was the Chief Operating Officer at RSM McGladery FPO (India), a financial process outsourcing firm. Before that, Anil held various management positions in the CRM industry. He founded iCall India Limited and was also on of the founding members of

vCustomer Corporation. Anil was also general manager for business development and human resources for a utility company Reliance Power. Anil is a graduate of the Indian Military Academy in Dehradun, India, and the National Defense Academy in Pune, India.

NAVIN DAVE SPEAKER Managing Partner for Global Resource Leveraging, KPMG LLP

Navin Dave is the Managing Partner for Global Resource Leveraging with KPMG LLP and has responsibility for strategy development and execution for use of KPMG’s global resources. Prior to this position he was the Canadian Managing Partner – Regions with KPMG LLP and Lead Partner for the Government of Ontario account. As a member of the Canadian leadership team, Navin was responsible for the leadership and success of the Regions Practice in Canada and ensuring that the Firm provided continued value-added services to the Government of Ontario.

Navin qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1974 and was admitted to KPMG’s partnership in 1981. He became a Certified Management Consultant in 1988. From 1984 to 1988 he was Partner-in-Charge of the Calgary Office Management Consulting Division. In 1994 Mr. Dave transferred to New Delhi, India as Managing Partner of KPMG India with responsibility for the establishment and development of the KPMG India member firm. On his return to Canada, Mr. Dave was appointed Calgary Office Managing Partner and Area Managing Partner – West, effective August 1, 1997. Mr. Dave assumed the role of Canadian Managing Partner – Regions on October 1, 1999 and his current role as Managing Partner for Global Resource Leveraging on August 1, 2006. Navin’s key areas of experience are management and leadership. With regard to client work, Navin focuses on accountability and planning, operational and resource management review, feasibility studies, and business planning.

SHASHISHEKHAR M. GAVAI SPEAKER High Commissioner-designate, High Commission of India

Mr. S. M. Gavai graduated in History from Fergusson College, Pune, India. He joined the Indian Foreign Service in 1975. Since then, he has served in several important assignments in India and abroad. In the Ministry of External Affairs, Mr. Gavai has been Head of SAARC Division, Head of Administration Division, Head of Northern Division and India’s Chief of Protocol. Mr. Gavai has served in India’s Diplomatic Missions in Yugoslavia, Hungary, Zimbabwe, Indonesia, Germany, Scotland (as Consul General), Maldives (as High Commissioner), and in Houston, USA (as Consul General). He joined as India’s High Commissioner to Canada

in November 2008. Mr. Gavai is married to Rina and they have two sons.

DAVID P. GOOD SPEAKER Chief Representative, North America, Tata Sons Ltd.

David Good joined the Tata Group on February 1, 2005, as their corporate representative in North America after completing a 34-year career with the U.S. Department of State. His last position with the State Department was Director of the Office of India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bhutan and Maldives Affairs, following a three-year stint as American Consul General in Mumbai (Bombay), India from 1999-2002. During his career in the Foreign Service, he also served as Public Affairs Officer at the American Embassies in Tel Aviv, Israel; in Amman, Jordan; in Kuwait City, Kuwait; and at the American Consulate General in

Jerusalem. From 1997-1999, Mr. Good was Director of the Office of North African, Near Eastern and South Asian Affairs at the U.S. Information Agency in Washington, and responsible for U.S. Government education, exchange and information programs across the Middle East and South Asia. From 1989-1991, he was Spokesman and Director of Public Affairs at the Near Eastern and South Asian Affairs Bureau of the State Department. He served in previous assignments in Calcutta and New Delhi, India and in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. He is married to the former Ila Jasani of Calcutta and has two daughters: Mallika and Maya, both of whom are working in the Washington, D.C. area. The Goods make their home in Virginia.

MARVIN HOUGH SPEAKER Executive in Residence, Telfer School of Management

Marvin K. Hough joined the Telfer School of Management on May 30, 2008 as an Executive-in-Residence focusing on international business. His responsibilities will include developing international business courses and seminars to be offered at the Telfer School’s Centre for Executive Leadership and the Executive MBA. He will also assist Executive MBA participants in their International Consulting Projects

Marvin Hough draws on 30 years of experience with Export Development Canada (EDC), Canada’s official export credit agency. Mr. Hough’s most recent assignment with EDC was Regional Vice-President, Asia from April 2005 to December 2007.

Dr. Kalai Kalaichelvan brings over 20 years experience in the telecommunications industry, leading Canada on the international stage. As the President & CEO of EION Wireless, Dr. Kalai Kalaichelvan, is an internationally recognized leader in providing ICT solutions for developing countries to promote e-governance and digital world solutions. EION’s Canadian products are deployed in over 75 countries with 164 re-sellers worldwide making EION a pillar in the new era of wireless networking. Dr. Kalaichelvan’s leadership has earned EION

being named to the list of Fast 50 Wireless Companies and Fast 500 Technology Companies in North America for 2007.

Of particular importance to this Forum, EION’s products are being deployed as part of The Gujarat State Wide Area Network (G-SWAN) in India to connect various villages and the cities. To date, EION has provided over 6000 broadband wireless links across India. Dr. Kalaichelvan has also established EION’s R&D Lab in India to promote technology collaboration transfer between Canada and India. Dr. Kalaichelvan has a successful track record with many start-up companies within the Ottawa region.

For his entrepreneurial innovation, he has won numerous awards including Innovator of the Year 2004, Wemmie Award for “Advanced Technology for the Underserved: Community Services” in 2005 Indo Canada Ottawa Business Chamber Award for “Enhancing the Image of Indo Canadians in the World of Business” 2008.

Dr. Kalai Kalaichelvan holds a Ph.D. and M.Sc. from the University of Toronto. He actively participates in numerous international forums and sits on the advisory boards of various start-ups and leading research institutions.

MIKE MANSON SPEAKER CEO and co-founder, TaraSpan Group

Mike Manson is CEO and co-founder of the TaraSpan Group. TaraSpan, in concert with its subsidiary Wesley Clover Communication Solutions, accelerates the entry of technology products into the India marketplace. Mike is formerly Senior Vice President and General Manager at Alcatel, where he led a global business unit with software development centers in Canada, California, Belgium, Spain and India. He currently divides his time between Ottawa Canada and Gurgaon India. He sits on the Board of Directors of companies in both Canada and India. Mike holds a BASc degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Waterloo.

PETER NESBITT SPEAKER Regional Vice-President, South and South East Asia, EDC

Peter Nesbitt joined Export Development Canada (EDC) in October 2003 as Regional Manager for South and Southeast Asia. In April 2005, he relocated to New Delhi and was appointed as EDC’s first Chief Representative to India. In April 2008, Mr. Nesbitt was appointed Regional Vice-President, South and Southeast Asia. Prior to joining EDC, Mr. Nesbitt worked internationally for Scotiabank. His last assignment was as a Commercial Branch Manager in Bangalore, India. He has lived and worked in South Asia for more than 13 years.

Mr. Nesbitt holds a BA in Political Science from Carleton University and an MBA from Dalhousie University. He is currently working towards a Fellowship in the Institute of Canadian Bankers. EDC is Canada’s export credit agency, offering innovative commercial solutions to help Canadian exporters and investors expand their international business. EDC’s knowledge and partnerships are used by nearly 7,000 Canadian companies and their global customers in up to 200markets worldwide each year. RAJESH RAMAKRISHNAN SPEAKER VP, Retail Banking Operations, ICICI Bank Canada

Rajesh Ramakrishnan is the Vice President & Head of Retail Banking, Operations and SME at ICICI Bank Canada. He is also part of the core Executive Management Team in the bank. Rajesh has over 13 years of experience in the financial services industry. He joined ICICI Bank Canada in April 2007. Prior to joining ICICI Bank Canada, he was associated with Bank of America, Standard Chartered Bank, Citigroup and ABN AMRO Bank. He has worked extensively in consumer banking, branch network, global corporate and investment

GLEN BAILEY Director, Executive Leadership Program, Telfer School of Management In August 2007, Glen Bailey became the Director of Executive Programs at the Telfer School of Management at the University of Ottawa. A former Canadian diplomat and federal public servant for most of his career, he has held a variety of executive positions in five different departments. He has extensive experience in international affairs and domestic policies such as aboriginal economic development, refugee determination, acquisition programs and human resources.

MARK BOLGER Senior Advisor of Asia, Export Development Canada Mark Bolger is currently Senior Advisor of Asia with the International Business Development Group of Export Development Canada. For over fifteen years, Mr. Bolger has been responsible for managing EDC’s Asian business relationships, providing strategic advice to Canadian companies on export risks and opportunities, and fostering EDC’s overall country knowledge of Asia.

MICHAEL DARCH Executive Director, OCRI Global Marketing Michael is a strong advocate of focused, cluster-based economic development. He has been the driving force behind the economic partnerships formed between Ottawa and several U.S. cities and is now building Asian, European and Latin American partnerships. He has rebuilt the marketing of Ottawa around its successful technology clusters, skilled workforce, research strength, ability to attract capital and business support infrastructure. Michael holds Masters Degrees in Business from the University of Ottawa and Engineering from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland and is a graduate of the Royal Military College of Canada. He is a Professional Engineer, registered in the Province of Ontario.

SONAM DEVGAN President and CEO, Algol Semantics Inc. Sonam is currently the President and CEO of Algol Semantics, a globally-focused technology outsourcing firm with operations in US, Canada, and India. Sonam is an expert on India-specific technology issues, and has guided numerous North American companies with software development outsourcing and go-to-market initiatives in India.

BARRY GANDER Executive Vice President, CATA Barry Gander helps organizations expand their client base and revenues by explaining the value of their advanced technology to around the world. His specialty is the invention of effective, creative new ways to expand a company’s business, either through selling more product, positioning it more forcefully, or establishing a better public policy environment.

NISHITH GOEL CEO, Cistel Technology Inc. Nishith Goel is the CEO of Cistel Technology, an Information Technology company he founded in 1995 which has operations in Canada and the U.S. A veteran technology executive and entrepreneur, Nishith is also the co-founder of CHiL Semiconductor and was co-founder of Ipine Networks. He and his employees at Cistel have a corporate foundation within the CFO, to which he and his employees contribute. Nishith was appointed to the Board of Directors of Enablence (ENA:TSX-V) in 2007 and Excelocity in 2006. He is Board Vice-Chair of the Queensway-Carleton Hospital Foundation.

MUKESH GUPTA Director Strategic Relations, Tata Consultancy Services (TSC) Canada Mukesh Gupta, Director of Strategic Relations for Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) Canada, is responsible for the company's interactions with industry, government, academia, trade bodies and business institutions. He took up the challenge in 2001, with a mandate to increase the company's visibility and penetration of the Canadian marketplace. He has achieved significant success in establishing and cementing the Tata brand as a significant player across all sectors. He brings to this role a distinguished career in Canadian enterprise, and long associations with bilateral Indo-Canadian bodies, including academic & research institutions, chambers of commerce, business councils and trade and community associations. Mukesh is married to Neerja and have two children.

MICHEÁL J. KELLY Dean, Telfer School of Management, University of Ottawa Dr. Kelly has been Dean of the Telfer School of Management since 2000. During his tenure as Dean, he has helped to transform the Telfer School into a leading centre for management education and research, and a unique and stimulating learning environment for students. He has been responsible for leading the Telfer School of Management through two major international accreditations, the development of new programs and student services and a major fundraising campaign.

In addition to his duties as Dean, Dr. Kelly is a professor of strategic and international management. His research focuses on strategic alliances and the competitive strategies of high-technology companies. He has authored several dozen monographs, articles and studies and produced the video Building Successful Strategic Alliances. His recent research on alliances, in cooperation with Professor Jean-Louis Schaan, has been published by the Stanford Research Institute (SRI) the Journal of Small Business Strategy and the Journal of R&D Management.

MAHESH S. MANI Partner, KPMG LLP Mahesh recently joined KPMG's Ottawa office as a Partner in the Information, Communications & Entertainment (ICE) group of the Audit practice, focusing on the needs of Ottawa's technology industry. Mahesh came to Ottawa from KPMG in Toronto where he had experience working with organizations ranging from owner-managed enterprises to large public corporations. In addition to providing auditing services, Mahesh has been on assignments to KPMG Canada’s National Office and KPMG’s International Headquarters in the Netherlands where he dealt with complex accounting, auditing and risk management matters.

THOMAS PROWSE Partner, Kanata Technology Law Office Thomas Prowse, a partner with Gowling’s Kanata Technology Law Office, practices in the areas of technology law and technology-related commercial matters. Before re-joining Gowlings, Thomas was Senior Counsel with Nortel where he provided strategic legal services to numerous and diverse global product development organizations including the Open Source Advisory Team.

AKHIL TYAGI Area Director, South Asia at the International Trade Branch, MITI Akhil Tyagi is Area Director for South Asia at the International Trade Branch of the Ontario Ministry of International Trade and Investment (MITI). Since 2006 in this position, Akhil has contributed to increase the export capabilities of several Ontario companies and has led key trade missions to India that generated business opportunities for Ontario manufacturers and service providers. Prior to joining MEDT, Akhil held several managerial and business development positions with engineering companies in India, among which: Regional Manager, NEG Micon A/S (Denmark), one of the largest wind turbine manufacturers in the world, and Zonal Manager, Kirloskar Oil Engines Ltd., an Indian market leader in its sector. Akhil is a Mechanical Engineer from Birla Institute of Technology and holds an MBA from the Rotman School of Management (University of Toronto).

ANNOUNCING TELFER FOCUS INDIA PROGRAM In 2009 the Telfer School of Management will launch the Telfer Focus India program. Focus India is a comprehensive “doing business in India” executive learning program offered by the Telfer School of Management at the University of Ottawa in conjunction with its partner organizations. The program is designed to provide practical guidance and a business plan analysis to Canadian firms as they tackle the opportunities and challenges in the Indian market. Focus India is being led by Marvin Hough, a former Vice-President for Asia at EDC and Canadian Trade Commissioner in India. This program is targeted for senior executives in Canadian firms, primarily SME’s with a strong interest and commitment to the Indian market. The objective of the program is to significantly enhance the effectiveness of Canadian companies in doing business in India or with Indian firms. The 2009 Telfer Focus India Program consists of: a) a series of practical “doing business in India” workshops; b) a business trip preparation phase; c) a focused business visit to India and; d) a business plan analysis for each participating company. Successful participants will take part in all phases of the program and will receive an executive certificate of achievement. WHAT DOES IT DELIVER? KNOWLEDGE - A heightened awareness of the scope of business opportunities in India and an understanding of the strategic options for entering the market and “dos and don’ts” in conducting business. CONTACTS - The opportunity to develop contacts and relationships with Canadian and Indian businesspeople and exchange with experts and intermediaries on the Indian market in order to be best prepared to develop and undertake business in India. MARKET EXPOSURE - The opportunity to apply knowledge, gain actual Indian market exposure and develop entry strategy proposals through a direct and tailored market visit. PRACTICAL APPLICATION OF LEARNING - Sufficient knowledge, exposure and resources to complete a business plan analysis for their firm as it relates to the Indian market while drawing on key experts from Telfer and supporting organizations. The program registration will take place in late spring 2009 with the workshops and business visit to India scheduled for the autumn of 2009. Registration will be limited to 20 companies.
