LES COULEURS

The adjective is placed AFTER the noun: une voiture rouge, une fleur bleue

If the noun is feminine, so is the adjective: + (e) : bleue, verte, grise, noire, violette, blanche.

Some colours are the same in masculine and feminine (=) jaune, rouge, orange, marron, rose

If the noun is plural, the adjective is plural: + (s) : bleus /bleues, rouges … except gris (=)

LES PRONOMS PERSONNELS

SINGULIER PLURIEL

1ère personne je nous

2ème personne tu (informal) vous

3ème personne il (masculine) /elle (feminine) ils / elles

In French for the 2nd person singular (you), we use tu et vous.

Tu is for friends and family and vous is formal (for adults you don’t know, bosses, doctors,

teachers…). Vous is conjugated in plural even if you are addressing one person.

Je becomes J’ when the verb that follows it begins with a vowel or with an h.

In French, 90 % of verbs end in –ER and most of them are regular.

To obtain the root of the verb, we have to take the infinitive and take out –er :
