Our task for today's lesson is to write a letter to someone to thank them for their support during your Britannia journey.

The letter should not be to your Year 6 teacher, you need to think of someone else who has supported you in some way.

What should go into your letter?(Plan it out on a scrap piece of paper before writing)
Structure:
Introduce the purpose of writing - to thank then for their help/support.
Give examples of when this person has helped you.
Give examples of good memories you have of working with this person.
Finish by thanking them again and giving a message for your future - e.g you will never forget their help/you couldn't have done it without them/you will aim to help others in the future.
Don't forget to sign off.

Proofreading and editing
Don't forget to check:
Spelling especially of the person's name and common vocabulary.
Sense. Read it aloud to help find any grammatical errors.
Punctuation. Have you written in clear sentences?

Decorate your page by adding a border!
Do this by measuring a 2cm margin all the way around your page. Write your letter inside the box and then decorate!

Use the skills we have discussed today to write another letter.
Ideas:
-Thank a friend for always being there for you
-Thank someone in your family for all they do for you
-Thank the staff at the hospital for their hard work
-Thank a different member of staff at school for helping you
-Thank anyone else who deserves your thanks!
