RETIREMENT LIVING CODE OF CONDUCT

July/Aug 2019

A big thank you to everyone for your ongoing patience with construction. Once Stage 5 is finished all construction traffic will be redirected through the back of the site, and our front entrance will finally be exclusive to village traffic. Won’t it be lovely to have clean roads?! (It’s the simple things!)

THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE

Continuing on that note, thank you to the Marmong Waters construction crew who recently donated funds to the Christmas in July function on the 26th of July. The following letter of thanks was presented on the 1st August:

THANK YOU TO CONSTRUCTION CREW

Did you know that as of 2016, 180,00 seniors across the nation called a retirement community their home? A home in a retirement community is not an investment property, nor is it a vehicle to build personal wealth. It is a lifestyle choice, a place to live and stay connected to the community, to enjoy the facilities and activities, and spend time in the company of other people who are all at a similar stage in life.

DID YOU KNOW

To the Construction Group: G’day friends, This is just a short note to say a great big “Thank You” for your so generous support of our recently held Christmas in July function.

The night was a huge success with 45 residents attending and enjoying the festive food, music and carols. Yours sincerely, Rob Lyon. Acting Chair Marmong Waters Social Committee.

At the beginning of July, Marmong Waters Residents turned out in droves to support the talents of aspiring young pianists. The mini-concert was held by piano teacher Ebony Proctor, giving her students the opportunity to flex their performance muscles in front of an appreciative audience. And, as the following photos show - it was also a great excuse to enjoy a social occasion over afternoon tea!

On the 26th of July our Marmong Community celebrated Christmas in July with carols, decorations, Christmas food and loads of Christmassy good-will and frivolity! There was a great turn-out of residents and friends - our Marmong residents sure know how to host a party!

SAVE THE DATE! Evacuation Training will be held on August the 29th, and wardens will be wanted. Please see Amanda to lodge your expressions of interest for the training day. The lucky volunteers will be equipped with a hard-hat and a Fire Warden goodie bag.

THANK YOU TO EXPO HELPERSThank you to all our lovely helpers who folded, packed, stuck and stuffed marketing materials for the Newcastle Retirement VIllage Expo on the 4th and 5th August. It was A LOT of work and great to see people volunteering their time to lend a hand - just because they could! The expo was a brilliant opportunity to get our name out there and our stall was – by far – the best looking and busiest stall of the event!

Client feedback for both our massage therapist and Christie-the-colour-queen has been ah-mazing, and one of the things Amanda and Tracey enjoy best about working where they do is that they get to see all the transformations as people pass on their way to and from the salon and massage rooms.

‘They walk in, and FLOAT out:

looking GORGEOUS and relaxed.’

THE PAPARAZZI ARE OUT!

Well, what can you expect when you are a star? Several good-natured residents recently agreed to model for another Marmong Waters professional photo shoot. Thanks-a-bunch to all who got involved for their time and hard work. They scrub up alright, don’t they?

opportunity to make the newsletter something that reflects our

growing community - for the residents, by the residents.

Expressions of interest - please put your name down at the Community Centre if you are interested in any or all of these events:
