Zurich: World’s Most Livable City
Zurich lies in the heart of Europe and at the center of Switzerland, on the northern shores of Lake Zurich. More than 400,000 people live in the land of science and business center. Zurich is not only an admits of natural surroundings but also a popular place for Science & Research. Most of Switzerland’s research and development centers are concentrated in Zürich. For example, at Zurich University or the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich (ETH); built by Gottfried Semper from 1858 to 1864, the ETH Zürich is today associated with 21 Nobel prize winners. Zurich’s shopping mile has contributed largely to the city’s reputation as an El Dorado for shoppers and is a top address for international fashion labels, jewelry, and watches. Zurich has many attractions which include dozens of museums, enough art - both in and out of museums - to keep art-lovers happy for a week, and a well-preserved old town filled with medieval and Renaissance buildings. Although it buzzes mainly with business activities, Zürich is one of the finest Swiss towns to visit and is perfectly arranged for sightseeing on foot. The official language of Zurich is German. It has a population of over 390’000, with direct lake and river access. It is the financial center of Switzerland, where many bank and insurance companies have their head offices.
Zürich is a leading global city and is among the world’s largest financial centers despite having a relatively small population. The city is home to a large number of financial institutions and banking companies. Zurich has low tax rates to attract overseas companies to set up their headquarters there. Zurich is suitable for every type of event imaginable. It is the perfect destination for meetings, conventions, and seminars of all kinds.
It is one of Europe’s successful researches, pharmaceuticals, biomedical engineering, clean tech, biotechnology, construction, electronics, business and technology clusters centered at Zurich, with more than 1,000 affiliated firms, university departments and scientific institutions. Zurich, the town itself represents as endlessly fascinating textbook rich in past, is very much present wherever you go.
