Summer bus travel package now available from July

To take into account of the longer summer daytime and expected extra crowd during summer vacation, the opening hours of historical monuments in Tainan has now been extended for the period from July to August. Anping Fortress, Anping Tree House, Eternal Golden Castle, Koxinga Shrine will now open till 18:30, while those who purchased entrance ticket before 18:30 will be allowed to stay till 19:00.

Apart from the mentioned historic monuments, Chihkan Tower will now stay open till 21:30. Lit with lights, this is a great place to hang out in the later hours, not only for the evening scenery and local delicacies around the area, but also co�ee shops where you can sit and enjoy the evening with music performances from the monthly held Music Salon (19:30~21:00).

Furthermore, in case you haven’t noticed, one day bus travel ticket is now available (full ticket NT$100, half ticket NT$50, but during 7/1~7/31 all full tickets costs just NT$80) for purchase at the information desk inside the bus shelter in front of the train station; such bus tickets can also be purchased with the bus driver, but no change will be provided on bus. Ticket holders can travel on ‘Anping 88’, ‘Taijiang 99’ and city bus for unlimited rides, otherwise non-package deal ticket holders will have to pay at the current bus fee accordingly.

The two City Tour Bus (Anping 88 and Taijiang 99) are allocated to travel around the 8 major culture zones in the city with primary destinations at key historic monuments (Chihkan Tower, Eternal Golden Castle, Anping Fortress, Anping Tree House, Confucius Temple, Koxinga Shrine), ecological zone (Sihcao), shopping centers and famous local delicacies. Bicycles are now allowed to travel on the City Tour Bus.Readers are reminded that Tour guides will also be available on the City Tour Bus during the weekends. On the bus, you will also notice the installation of GPS reciever and a 20.1” LCD TV that jointly provides multimedia guides on each stop according to the GPS system. These multimedia guides will provide information on each bus stop, as well as introduction on surrounding tourist sites.

Moreover, 3 buses (Bus number: 409FK, 413FK, 418FK) are additionally equipped with WIFI wireless transmission services for mobile devices, allowing WIFI mobile users to track the bus movement through the Tainan City Tour Bus website and also to download information on travel and discount o�ers.For more information, please visit the e-bus website at http://2384.tncg.gov.tw/TNWeb/2384.jsp or call (06)2981000
