Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals – Credit Unions for Kids Purpose: CMNH-CU4Kids -- a League endorsed program.
Credit unions hold fast to their motto of “People Helping People” and this philosophy blossoms with credit union support of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. Nationally, CUNA, leagues, chapters and credit unions have sponsored Children’s Miracle Network since 1996. Today, credit unions across the United States collaborate with credit union chapters, leagues and business partners to raise much-needed funds to benefit 170 Children’s Miracle Network hospitals. Background: March 1995: League Board endorsed the Children’s Miracle Network and appointed two Directors as representatives of the Board to work with staff in promoting chapter and credit union involvement in the Credit Unions for Kids program. The idea for this program was launched in Texas. In the first year, Texas chapters/credit unions raised $450,000. In 2010: Texas CUs (through fundraisers, contributions and member donations) raised over $1.3 million.

Governmental Affairs Committee
Purpose: To advise the Texas Credit Union League Board of Directors on proposed and pending federal and state legislation and regulations, and, if warranted, recommend future action and positions that should be taken by the League.

State Affairs Working Group of Governmental Affairs Committee Purpose: To examine in-depth both current and proposed state regulations and state
laws regarding credit unions, and make recommendations that are beneficial to credit unions; further, as applicable, strive to find viable ways the League can advocate to reduce unnecessary regulatory burdens on state chartered credit unions.
Structure: The State Affairs Working Group meets three times a year or as needed, with the timing of the meeting generally scheduled to anticipate the three Texas Credit Union Commission meetings each year and in coordination with the League GAC meetings.

International Relationships Committee
Purpose: To provide leadership, education and plans for Texas credit unions to serve and assist in the World-Wide Credit Union System:
In relation to Hispanic outreach, assist with identifying, developing and supporting initiatives and programs beneficial to Texas credit unions in effectively serving their underserved and unbanked Hispanic communities.
In cooperation with the World Council of Credit Unions, develop and enhance collaborative opportunities with the SICREDI Cooperative Confederation of Brazil beneficial to Texas and Brazilian credit unions.
In cooperation with the Jamaica Cooperative Credit Union League, assist with developing plans and strategies relating to operational and financial services, legislative advocacy and regulatory compliance programs; and, assist with facilitating a partnership program fostering collaborative opportunities for both credit unions in Jamaica and Texas.

Small Credit Union Committee
Purpose: To empower small credit unions to remain vital and healthy, foster two-way communication between the League, chapters and all Texas credit unions, provide a forum for the exchange and discussion of ideas and best practices in all realms of the credit union industry and serve as accountable leaders that provide comprehensive resources.
Structure: Policies and Guidelines adopted by the Committee. If a member is unable to attend a Committee meeting, the committee member may designate a person from the area to attend the quarterly scheduled Committee meeting.
Members are CEOs at CUs $50M or less in assets; and, members facilitate quarterly training sessions in their locale. League Asset Category One Directors are Committee Members.

Texas Credit Union League Political Action Committee TCUL PAC Trustees: 2012-2014 Appointment–effective 2012 under new structure Purpose: To promote the credit union business in Texas by raising funds to make
campaign contributions to those seeking election or re-election to political offices, without regard to party affiliation, who are believed to be deserving of such support.
Structure: Officers:
Per TCUL PAC BYLAWS: The TCUL PAC Board of Trustees consists of up to fifteen (15) individuals who are employed by or are members of a credit union affiliated with the League. Appointments will be based upon at least three (3) Trustees from each of the four League Director Regions; and, up to three (3) at-large Trustees appointed by the League Chairman.
Appointments are in odd-numbered years and for two-year terms as long as they maintain their qualifications [per Board Policy, not to exceed 6 consecutive years of service].
